Last Saturday, #InternationalWomensDay2025 shone a spotlight on the importance of driving change to advance women's rights, promote gender equality, and foster empowerment. Around this specific day, we extended our strategic goals and initiatives with local activities: From keynotes on unconscious bias and inclusive communication in Spain, to a healthcare talk in India, to a colleague-led workshop in the UK, #TeamNordex is committed to tackling workplace stereotypes and promoting women's wellbeing and advancement. Our Global Learning & Development team continues to support our D&I strategy by providing digital learning resources on identifying bias and stereotypes in the workplace for all employees worldwide. However, the issue of gender equality is not sufficiently addressed by local initiatives on one day of the year: Recognising the need for continued work on this issue in the wind industry and within our own organisation, we are committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace for all through the implementation of ambitious targets and initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 in our sustainability strategy. We have set key targets to drive our diversity and inclusion initiatives forward, including achieving 25% female representation in management positions, maintaining 40% female participation in our talent development programme, and conducting regular D&I surveys and data analysis to gather insights directly from our team members. Last month, we published the first issue of our anniversary newsletter "40 Years of the Nordex Group". We were delighted to see how current and former colleagues, customers and partners joined us in revisiting the humble beginnings of Nordex's history from pioneer to industry leader. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures and your memories, thank you for your congratulations and for all the good wishes for the first 40 years – and the ones to come. Just one year after the company was established, the very first Nordex-branded turbine was installed in 1986: the N27. With its 250kW generator, it was the world's most powerful turbine at that time. A light-wind version of the N27 with 150kW followed.
