🌿 Sustainability Transformation Monitor 2024: Driving Change with Data The Bertelsmann Stiftung's Sustainability Transformation Monitor 2024 assesses the current status and progress of sustainability transformation within the German economy, focusing specifically on the real economy and financial sector. The study provides evidence-based insights for policymakers and businesses by analyzing both the challenges and successes in implementing sustainability measures. 📊 Key Findings: 1) High Investment Expectations: ▪ 52.2% of companies expect high or very high investments in social and ecological transformation. ▪ Higher expectations in large companies (63% for those with over 10,000 employees) compared to smaller ones (42.3% for those with fewer than 250 employees). 2) Financing Through External Capital: ▪ 26% of companies anticipate heavy reliance on external capital. ▪ An additional 31% plan to use external capital to some extent. ▪ More than half of companies expect to finance their sustainability initiatives through loans or other external funding sources. 3) Sustainability Maturity: ▪ Differences in the maturity of sustainability practices across sectors and company sizes. ▪ Insights into areas where additional support or regulation might be needed to accelerate transformation efforts.
