Besides the omnipresent lack of skilled professionals, we often experience that companies decide to start additional projects, although the resources are actually not even sufficient for the running ones.  To find out why this happens so often (although actually nobody wants it), we will investigate the root causes and mechanisms of organizational psychology. We show the mid-term consequences, illustrated by practical examples, and conclude with a set of recommendations how to cope with such situations and how to avoid that they come up at all. After the part where we bring up some of our thoughts on the topic, we would be eager to discuss your thoughts and experiences.

"What's really appealing about my job as an assessor is the many insights into automotive development and the industry as a whole. In each assessment, you have to get to know a development project very well in a relatively short time in order to be able to make a fair and unchallengeable judgment about Automotive Spice® compliance. Over time, you have to deal with many different colleagues from the industry and you can't help but keep learning: be it on an interpersonal level, because with so many people you regularly get to know someone who forces you to ask questions in a new way, or who brings new ideas and encourages you to question things. Knowledge about automotive development is constantly increasing, as is the number of examples of possible solutions. Then there's the technical level: I've had several occasions when I've had my vehicle serviced and I've assessed the suppliers of certain components or assistance systems a few years back. Sometimes you end up in a situation where you understand the implementation logic better than the technicians themselves, and this leads to very interesting discussions.
