PromoCell is a premier manufacturer of cell culture products. We are known for our broad range of human primary cells, stem cells and blood cells, optimized cell culture media, and a comprehensive line of cell biology research products. We believe that our cell culture products are the best suitable for biomedical research because they provide scientists with physiologically-accurate models, and therefore enable them to obtain better research results. We love sharing our expertise of more than 25 years of industry-leading cell science with our customers, whose feedback is essential for our continuing product development. Our PhD-qualified technical support staff and expert field-based teams ensure that hands-on, practical knowledge is available for you at all times. As the original manufacturer, PromoCell is committed to the highest possible ethical and legal standards. Human tissue used by PromoCell for the isolation of human cells is exclusively derived from donors who have signed an informed consent that explains in detail the purpose of the donation and the procedure for processing the tissue. PromoCell offers a collection of adult stem cells, as well as blood cells from normal human bone marrow, umbilical cord tissue, placenta, adipose tissue, peripheral blood and cord blood. Completing our portfolio are high-quality media that simulate the in-vivo environment for these cell types, in addition to optimized differentiation media systems. Today, we spotlight a recent publication that investigates the mechanisms of angiogenesis, vascular barrier integrity, and blood vessel stability in the central nervous system (CNS). In a collaborative study, researchers from Barcelona and Munich focused on the role of a specific DNA/RNA-binding protein, TAR DNA-binding protein 43 (TDP-43), in angiogenesis. They used primary human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) to silence TDP-43 and found that TDP-43 is required for sprouting angiogenesis, vascular barrier integrity, and blood vessel stability. Using a multiple-model approach, the researchers shed light on the importance of TDP-43 for retinal sprouting angiogenesis, vascular network remodeling, blood-CNS barrier integrity, and CNS vessel stability. The study emphasizes the vital role of TDP-43 in angiogenesis and vascular function and may offer insights into potential therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative disorders associated with vascular abnormalities. Víctor Arribas Payà, Yara Onetti, et al. Endothelial TDP-43 controls sprouting angiogenesis and vascular barrier integrity, and its deletion triggers neuroinflammation, JCI Insight. 2024;9(5):e177819. https://lnkd.in/eKebdhyi #cellculture #angiogenesis

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻? 🔍 The video features keratinocytes isolated from the epidermis of human skin. Chromatin within the nucleus, membrane ruffling at the edge of the cell, and bright white lipid droplets can be clearly seen. 🛡 Keratinocytes physically protect against environmental damage such as pathogens, heat, UV radiation, and water loss. 🚨 If pathogens invade the epidermis, keratinocytes can trigger the immune response by attracting leukocytes. Thank you to the PromoCell team for sharing your amazing cells with us! #SkinProtection #Keratinocytes #CellBiology #HumanSkin #Microscopy
