🤩 Great to see the regular exchange of the key players within EU rail freight. Highlighting the importance of innovation and focussing the topic of end-to-end digital communication for better tracking, tracing and higher reliability. With our platform solution RailSync, we strive to enable this holistic digital transparency, ultimately to support the modal shift to more rail 🚂 🤝 Connect with us, dear terminal operators, railway undertakings and operators
🚆 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. The future of intermodal rail freight rests on two legs: 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, which is necessary, but the way it has been pursued until now has not delivered to expectations 🔀 ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) implementation is key to achieving the original and ultimate goals of interoperability and safety across the network - resulting in increased quantity and better quality infrastructure capacity. 🛤 Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) is a significant enabler of productivity for the sector - especially the single wagonload production system. For all others, cost-benefit analysis (CBA) must prove usefulness. 🖥 Digitalisation of operations - such as timetabling, tracking and tracing - as well as communication between the stakeholders. 𝗔 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆, since the infrastructure would allow for more train paths to be allocated to freight trains. 👷♂️ Combined Transport performance is slowed down by an overwhelming amount of disruptive maintenance works on the railway network, which has become a financial and a competitiveness issue for intermodal rail freight operators. 💶 The additional cost of excessive detours forced on freight train operators in conjunction to disruptive maintenance works should be compensated. ❗ As work on maintaining and upgrading the European network is ongoing, its crucial to safeguard track capacity allocated to freight trains! We advocate for at least 80% of track capacity to be maintained for freight trains during reconstruction works, with efforts to minimise bypass detours to a maximum of 50km. 👷♀️ 💡 #RailFreight #Innovation #ERTMS #DAC #Sustainability #CombinedTransport Peter KISS, Michail Stahlhut, Neele Wesseln, Florian Ney, Andreas Mandl, Conor Feighan, Ralf-Charley Schultze, Robert Groiss, Christopher Leiner, METRANS Group, Hupac Group, LTE logistics & transport, ČD Cargo Logistics, a.s., ERFA-European Rail Freight Association, DIE GÜTERBAHNEN, Patrik Benka Ján Biznár Michał Litwin, MBA.
