That is why we are delighted that our REHAU Interior Solutions division has been recognized as a “Carbon Reduction Leader 2024” by its partner Steelcase 🎉! This recognition reflects our joint commitment to scientifically sound emission reduction 🌱. This is because Steelcase set itself science-based targets in 2020. The emission targets are considered science-based if they are in line with what is necessary according to the latest climate science to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement - limiting global warming to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels. Steelcase expects the same from its partners: 80% of suppliers are expected to set their own science-based targets by 2025. Throwback Thursday to the year 1988 🎉! Back then, we began recycling polymer waste in our production process, laying the foundation for our commitment to the circular economy. Today, 75 years later, recycling is a central component of our corporate philosophy and is practiced in all business areas. Here are a few examples: 🔄 Window Solutions: old PVC is collected, processed into high-quality granulate and used for new window profiles. 🏗️ Building Solutions: Thanks to a take-back concept, leftover pipes are collected directly from customers and then converted into recycled material. 🪑 Interior Solutions: The REHAU return edgeband take-back concept aims to recycle unused edgebands.
