🚀 Roots Radicals Goes Retail! 🚀 LAUNCH EVENT LINK BELOW ⤵️⤵️⤵️ We are excited to announce that Roots Radicals will soon be hitting supermarket shelves! Since 2020, we’ve been handcrafting preserves from rescued produce to combat food waste 🌍💚 Now, we’re taking the next big step toward making zero-waste, circular cooking more accessible by bringing our products to retail! To make this vision a reality, we’re turning to YOU—our incredible community—as we launch our crowdfunding campaign 🙌. 🎯 Our Goal: Raise the necessary funds to produce our first large-scale batch of products, ready to land on supermarket shelves 🛒. 💸 €15,000: Funds the production of 6,000 units of our Bread and Butter Pickles. 💸💸 €30,000: Adds our Vegetable Bouillon to the line and supports new product development. 💸💸💸 Anything €30,000 allows us to invest in marketing to ensure our jars fly off the shelves and moves us closer to expanding into a larger, fully equipped kitchen for zero-waste innovation! For supporting companies we’ve curated some very special perks, including teambuilding workshops, our signature pickle bar for companies and many more! We’re embarking on an exciting journey, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you! Info
Authentic. Hand-Crafted. Zero-Waste. Roots Radicals is a food project which aims to reclaim production kitchens back to the community, by creating a food shop showing all process and a Café with a seasonal, regional and circular approach. We cook focusing on efficiency and zero-waste, and upcycle waste through innovation into a variety of new food products, and also by having 'rescued food' products lines. We focus on an artisan way of producing as we believe that artisanry carries the magic and wisdom we need to reconnect back to our Planet. Roots Radicals aims to be fully transparent and looks to inspire and empower people into changing habits of consumption through a sustainable and zero-waste approach. Be the change you want to see. Let’s shift our thinking - from competition to cooperation, from manipulation to emergence, from hiding and protecting to being open source. It’s time to challenge all thoughts of how it should be and create a model of how we wanted it to be.

Roots Radicals hat dies direkt geteilt
What a week! Together with ICLEI Europe and the EU-funded project #FEAST, #FoodCLIC contributed to The Nature of Cities Festival this year. Not only did our “Local Food Heroes” session reveal insightful and creative ways to transform #foodsystems 🦸♀️ – we are also leaving Berlin with a lot of inspiration, food for thought, new contacts and new knowledge that will flow into our work for the project. 💡💬🧠 We thank the organisers of The Nature of Cities Festival and all contributors for this stimulating and educational week! From "Alternative Food Imaginaries", to discussions on "Policy Tools that work for Nature and for People'" to interesting conversations over lunch with Roots Radicals - #TNOC2024 really impressed us. Roots Radicals hat dies direkt geteilt
What a week it has been! No doubt the The Nature of Cities Festival in #Berlin was a celebration of diversity and community. All and all we had: ➡ 5 Plenary sessions ➡ +120 parallel sessions ➡ 23 field trips ➡ 3 From Farm to Table Dinners ➡ +450 participants Big shout out to TNOC's brains and brawn David Maddox M'Lisa Colbert Claudia Misteli 🎉 This is how I sum up five full and fun-filled days of the Festival: ➡ Women leading sustainability conversations. ➡ Latin America’s participation was outstanding. ➡ Increased efforts are needed for epistemic justice! All choices consciously embodied TNOC's values - our venue in Atelier Gardens with Benjamin Rodrigues Kafka and his team, Zero-Waste Vegan caterer Roots Radicals, the Kiosk of Solidarity and our Protest Poster Painting booth using soil pigments. TNOC's Art Programme went also above and beyond - curated by Carmen Bouyer & Patrick Lydon it featured works from award-winning artists Juju Kurihara 🇯🇵, Thomas Piper 🇺🇸 , and young talents as Vida Madigi-Oghu and Seth Kriger 🇿🇦. There was something for everyone. The festival spun around night excursions with bats and foxes, to sessions dedicated to bioluminescent ecologies in cities (Melissa Ingaruca Moreno, etc.), Theater of the oppressed (TO) as a tool to engage with environmental justice (Natalia Andrea Burgos Cuevas, etc.), creating our own greenprint with Kierstyn Cox Robert McDonald, Ph.D., et al., and a workshop on Radical Collaboration for climate action hosted by Inna Chilik. Needless to mention the significant contribution from different EU Horizon 2020 projects showcasing their outcomes JUSTNatureProject VARCITIES - Green Cities are Healthier Cities KMA - Interlace New European Bauhaus w/ Niki Frantzeskaki Daniela Rizzi, etc. Plenary conversations included The Berlin Urban Pact w/ Sandra Naumann, Gardens by the Bay in #Singapore w/ Andrew Grant, powerful testimonies from #Colombia on community-led mobilisations w/ Ana Lopez and DIANA WIESNER, and Barranquilla's urban design as a #BiodiverCity with Martha C. Fajardo P. (DLitt), etc. The festival was also an opportunity to re-connect with former collaborators such as Chantal van Ham <3 Lina María Hoyos Rojas Theresa Williamson Paul Currie colleagues from Instituto de Investigación de Recursos Biológicos Alexander von Humboldt; and meet in the flesh Jennifer Rae Pierce Carolina Fiallo Cardona Ricardo Silva Andrea Ferret Alannah Hofemeier P.K. Das, etc. Last but not least, my amazing curatorial whanau (“family” in Mãori): Ana Faggi, Kevin Lunzalu, Jean-Marie Cishahayo, Maria Aragão JD Brown Hita Unnikrishnan Amanda Vincelli Gitty Korsuize Gareth Moore-Jones DIANA WIESNER Sonia Rios, Devansh Jain McKenna Davis Carmen Bouyer Tim Lüschen, Marcela, Patrick Lydon, and many more! Next stop: Global South!
