A recent post by my friend Bertalan Meskó, MD, PhD led me to a database of AI/ML-enabled devices that have received FDA approval over the years. There's a lot to unpack in the data but what caught my eye was the distribution of specialities leveraging AI/ML. Radiology really dominating the space. Less surprising to me is the increase of AI/ML-enabled devices receiving approval over time. 🗞️ New Case Study This time, see how brrrr.com uses the Rows API to automate an end-to-end loan comparison workflow, facilitating hundreds of millions of dollars in loans. The secondary mortgage market presents significant challenges, particularly in comparing loan options from multiple lenders. Mortgage brokers and lenders often juggle rate sheets from various banks, which are typically received in inconsistent formats such as emails, PDFs, or Excel files. That’s where we came in. Brrrr integrated Rows with their existing frontend tools, Noloco and Feathery. This integration enabled a seamless and automated loan comparison process. Here’s how it works: ① Data Collection When loan buyers submit their rate sheets, Brrrr updates them in Rows. This centralized repository allows users to easily compare loan options from 20 different banks without dealing with disparate formats. ② Scenario Calculation Users interact with a form built on Feathery, which communicates with a Rows spreadsheet via our API. This setup enables real-time calculations to determine the best loan options. Additionally, when a user wants to save a loan scenarios, BRRR logs the calculations from the Rows API into Brrrr's Supabase database for future reference. ➂ Visible Insights Both brokers and the internal sales team have access to tailored loan comparisons through a customized calculator. This tool includes broker-specific margin calculations, ensuring that each user can view data relevant to their needs without altering their existing loan management systems. By automating the comparison process, the 12-member sales team saves dozens of hours each week, minimizes human errors, and win more business. Brokers are now empowered to price deals independently, accelerating the decision-making process and improving deal closure rates. Spreadsheets errors are like taxes: they pop-up at least once per year. We want Rows.com to be a 10x experience. So we completely re-wired our interface to let you handle errors at any step of the way. 1. if a cell has an error, we will send you to the solution immediately. 2. if you want to re-execute cells with errors, you can re-run just that cell or all cells with errors, from the cell tooltip or from the table header. This is especially important as we add more AI skills to tables and cells; Connecting services such as Marketing data can have result in a few errors as APIs occasionally have brain farts.
