This unique project blends Scandinavian hygge with Bavarian country house charm—where an original farmhouse parlor and a traditional tiled stove meet modern, light-filled glass façades. Torben, who grew up in Denmark and developed a deep passion for wood, now lives here with his family. The expertise of Cortina & Käll in architecture and Hansen’s craftsmanship in wood result in a seamless fusion of past and present. 🎂 40 Years of Craftsmanship and Innovation 🎂 In 2024, we proudly mark 40 years of creating the finest-quality wooden flooring and surfaces that bring natural beauty and enduring elegance to some of the world's most stunning spaces. On 22nd and 23rd November, we celebrated this landmark anniversary with remarkable events at our Headquarters in Peiting, Bavaria — filled with special moments and projects honouring the natural beauty of wood. On the first day our founder & CEO Torben Hansen and CEO Bernhard Heinloth warmly welcomed guests amid the enchanting ambiance of the Mythical Forest Lounge, inspired by Minnie Kemp and the PIT-A-PAT table which she designed in honour of our 40-year journey. The day concluded with a spectacular "Tales & Toasts" dinner in our newly designed workshop in collaboration with architect and long lasting compagnion Francisco Cortina (Cortina & Käll). For the evening, it was transformed with a maritime-inspired design by interior designer Ina Rinderknecht. Friends of the house including Ina Rinderknecht, Paolo Mazza, and Francisco Cortina shared heartfelt memories of working with Schotten & Hansen creating an unforgettable celebration. During the 2 days program, more than 500 guests enjoyed an exclusive tour of our manufacturing headquarters, offering a firsthand look at the craftsmanship and dedication that define Schotten & Hansen.   As we reflect on this joyous milestone, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our clients, partners, and team for being part of this remarkable journey, and look forward to the future and continuing to craft with the same passion and precision that has shaped our past. Special thanks to Steffi Haubner for her outstanding decoration, Georg Veit for the impeccable sound and technical setup, and Zoey Stibi, whose harmonious vocals added a magical touch to the atmosphere. Inspiration, Creativity, and Enjoyment in Merano 🎨 In early November, Schotten & Hansen was honored to be an event partner for the Merano Event, a day filled with inspiration and dedicated to architecture, design, colors, and wine, set against the stunning backdrop of South Tyrol. Our journey began with an exclusive tour of the exhibition “Modern Architecture in South Tyrol 2018-2024” at Kunst Meran. Renowned for its focus on contemporary art, Kunst Meran also shines as one of South Tyrol’s most vibrant and influential institutions dedicated to architecture Together with 10 regional architects and interior designers from South Tyrol, we delved into the world of contemporary architecture and discovered impressive projects that seamlessly blend regional identity with innovation. Following this, we hosted an inspiring colour workshop. In the remarkable setting of the historic hall at Kunst Meran, we – Bernhard Heinloth (CEO) and Manfred Vetrovec (Senior Key Account Manager) – showcased the diverse possibilities for combining wood and colors in creative ways. Our participants had the opportunity to try out these techniques for themselves which sparked a lively exchange about materials and design. After a well-deserved lunch break, we moved on to the Meran.o Wine Festival, where culture and enjoyment came together harmoniously. The day concluded with the premiere of two documentaries “ArchiWine South Tyrol” and “ArchiWine Canada” – which offered insights into the connection between architecture and wine. Schotten & Hansen at LAUFEN Space in Vienna! 🚀 Earlier this month, we were thrilled to be featured guests at the LAUFEN Space in Vienna for their COLOUR ARCHAEOLOGY event. LAUFEN, one of the world's leading manufacturers of ceramics, presented an interdisciplinary journey through art, design, archaeology, and the history of colour in ceramics. @Bernard Heinloth (CEO of Schotten & Hansen) and @Simon Stoib (Business Development) were in attendance and shared with the group the extensive range of naturally coloured wood veneers and finishes from the NCV world we have at Schotten & Hansen. Bringing together an extensive network of architects and developers in the high-end segment of LAUFEN we enjoyed the opportunity to meet interesting people and introduce the Schotten & Hansen brand to a broader audience. It was an invaluable experience that allowed us to connect with like-minded professionals and share our passion for exceptional craftsmanship on an international stage.
