SpiNNcloud meets Embedded World 2025! Last Thursday, colleagues of our hardware engineering team traveled to Nuremberg for Embedded World 2025, one of the industry's premier exhibitions with over 900 exhibitors from 42 countries. Our team focused on two strategic objectives: evaluating cutting-edge trends in embedded systems and identifying potential diversification strategies for our supply chain architecture in an evolving semiconductor landscape where proactive management is increasingly critical. The sheer amount of innovations on display was impressive, and we particularly valued the direct conversations with component manufacturers about supply chain resilience. Being back to Dresden, we will now evaluate these specific components for integration into our supply chain diversification strategy, reaffirming that embedded world Exhibition&Conference continues to provide exceptional value as both a technical resource and strategic planning accelerator for our hardware engineering initiatives. 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗜 𝗮𝗺: Hi there! I’m Alona Korzhakova, a software engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and data science. Originally from Ukraine, I worked on developing advanced firmware for cutting-edge DPUs and HCAs, including BlueField-3 and ConnectX-7, at Mellanox and later NVIDIA. Additionally, I explored the fascinating world of human genomics as a data scientist at the University of California San Diego. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, creating art, and spending time with friends. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗡𝗡𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀: I’m excited to embark on a new journey as an Embedded Machine Learning Engineer at #SpiNNcloud Systems. In this role, I am contributing to the development of the SNN software stack and focusing on the communication infrastructure between the host and the Spinnaker2 chip — a core component of SpiNNcloud’s groundbreaking work in neuromorphic computing.
