Sumitomo (SHI) Demag hat die Spritzgießtechnik von Anfang an wesentlich mitgeprägt. 1956 entwickelte die Vorgängergesellschaften Ankerwerk Gebr. Goller in Nürnberg die erste Einschnecken-Spritzgießmaschine. Seit dem haben wir in unseren Werken viel Erfahrung gesammelt und in neue Produkte und Verfahren umgesetzt. Auch die Mitarbeiter im thüringischen Wiehe bauen seit fast 40 Jahren leistungsfähige Kleinmaschinen. Seit seiner Modernisierung 1993 hat sich das Werk zu einem führenden Spezialisten für kleine Spritzgießmaschinen bis 2.100 kN Schließkraft entwickelt. Powering #medical efficiency at Fakuma! Join us at Hall B1, Booth 1105, where we are excited to present our #IntElect 180, now equipped with a new 910 injection unit. This upgrade expands the range of shot weights that can be processed by our 180-ton machine, offering a more compact and energy-efficient solution for medical mass production. In just 6,5 seconds, this production cell will manufacture 32 syringe plungers, each weighing 29 grams. As Director of Business Development Medical, Andreas Montag states: “This highly efficient yet compact cleanroom medical production cell is characterized by its repeatability and cleanliness. Built for high speed and precision, it is designed to handle extremely narrow tolerance medical applications produced in high volumes, while providing processors the flexibility to mould everything from small medical parts to larger components.” The ability to add a 50mm screw allows processors to mould larger parts. With the option to rapidly switch between three screw sizes (45mm, 50mm, and 60mm), plus the potential addition of a 55mm screw, processors can select the optimum screw size to suit each medical application. Featuring a Polarform turntable enhanced with Sumitomo drive technology, this system achieves an impressive 180° tool rotation in just 0.9 seconds, significantly optimizing production efficiency with a reduced cycle time of only 25 seconds. Each cycle produces two precision-engineered console buttons, weighing 5.2g each, utilizing a mould provided by BIA Kunststoff- und Galvanotechnik. The process is carried out through sequential injection, beginning with an ABS surface layer followed by a back injection with a PC shoring component. Tomorrow, Gerd Liebig steps down from his role at Sumitomo (SHI) Demag. After almost 10 impactful years, he has officially passed the baton to Christian Maget and Anatol Sattel.
