Last week, Dutch Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations Judith Uitermark visited Twente (NL). Among others, she spoke here with TECH.LAND Partner Twente Board with chairman Ank Bijleveld. Discussions included cross-border cooperation in technical innovation between the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony and the Dutch region of Twente. For example, the minister praised the cooperation between our TECH.LAND partners the University of Twente, the University of Münster and the Medisch Spectrum Twente. 🇩🇪🇳🇱🇺🇸 Young Researchers from Stanford University and University of Twente visited the #BatteryCityMünster🔋 Ahead of the MUST Winter School, young researchers from Stanford University, the University of Twente, and the Institute of Business Administration at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy (IfbM) of the Universität Münster gathered yesterday at #BatteryCityMünster. In addition to an intensive exchange of knowledge and experiences at IfbM, the agenda also included a visit to the FFB PreFab! Professor Simon Lux, Director of the Fraunhofer-Einrichtung Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle FFB, provided insights into our local infrastructure. The partnership between Münster, Twente, and Stanford has a clear goal: to train highly qualified young researchers who will actively shape the future of #batterytechnology. News: Exciting developments for the hydrogen economy! 🌱⚡ Greenlyte Carbon Technologies plans to build a CO₂-neutral eMethanol production facility at Marl Chemical Park. The start-up has secured multi-million-euro funding through the „Produktives.NRW“-program, co-financed by North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Union. With a total investment of €25 million, the facility will cover 3,000 sqm within Marl Chemical Park, benefiting from its existing infrastructure. Operations are set to begin by late 2026. ✔ CO₂ will be captured directly from the air. ✔ Green hydrogen will be used for production. ✔ Strengthens the future viability of the Evonik site. The new facility will remove 1,400 tons of CO₂ from the air and produce 200 tons of green hydrogen annually—resulting in up to 1,000 tons of green eMethanol.
