TOPTICA Photonics entwickelt, fertigt und vertreibt Laser und Lasersystemlösungen für verschiedene Anwendungsbereiche aus Industrie und Forschung. Dazu zählen Biophotonik, kontaktfreie Materialprüfung und Quantenoptik. Our colleague Dr. Nico Vieweg gave an online presentation for The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT), a professional organization in the United Kingdom that focuses on promoting and supporting activities the field of non-destructive testing (NDT). Nico presented ongoing research on terahertz photonic integrated circuits (THz-PICs). This new approach aims at the development of ultra-compact THz spectrometers, which are expected to broaden market acceptance for THz technologies. For example, for thickness inspection of opaque plastic pipes, THz-PICs will outperform electronic systems in terms of thickness resolution and accuracy. #Terahertz #photonic #integrated #circuits #PICs
