Key leadership changes at Uniper: Fabienne Twelemann takes over Human Resources, and Florian Dötterl to head Communication and Governmental Relations. These changes align with our strategy to enhance corporate culture and position Uniper as a leading employer in the energy sector. Starting January 1, 2025, Fabienne Twelemann will step into the role of Head of Human Resources, succeeding Ulrich Köster, who is retiring after eight years of successful leadership at Uniper. Our CEO Michael Lewis remarked, "Fabienne Twelemann's outstanding integrity, versatility, strategic vision, and in-depth knowledge of our company made her the first choice for the role of Head of HR. She has already proven her ability to shape our corporate culture, win people over, and develop talent. In her new role, she will continue to build on these successes and provide significant new impetus." On November 1, 2024, Florian Dötterl will take over as Head of Corporate Communication & Governmental Relations. Florian brings extensive experience from ista SE and E.ON, where he has led award-winning communication strategies. Michael Lewis shared, "With Florian Dötterl, we are gaining an extremely renowned communication and policy expert. He brings with him a wealth of experience and strategic expertise from leading international companies in the energy sector. We are very much looking forward to communicating Uniper's role for a secure and greener energy supply in a credible and convincing way with Florian Dötterl," Michael also expressed gratitude to Ulrich Köster for his significant contributions to Uniper’s HR strategy over the past seven years, acknowledging his role in building the company’s resilience during challenging times. ☀️We had fantastic weather for our event in Krummhörn! But what happens when the sun isn’t shining and the wind stops? That’s where green hydrogen storage steps in, and it’s exactly what we’re showcasing at our Krummhörn site in north-western lower Saxony, close to North Sea and the Dutch border. A big thank you to Olaf Lies for taking the time to join Michael Lewis, my colleagues, and me in inaugurating our Hydrogen Pilot Cavern (HPC) Krummhörn. It’s here that Uniper’s "Greener Gases" strategy truly comes to life. I’m excited to see our HPC Krummhörn project laying the foundation for commercial-scale hydrogen storage solutions. To fully unlock the potential of these systems, however, a clear regulatory framework that incentivizes initial investments is essential. By combining market-based storage fees with a cost-regulated equalization mechanism, we can achieve our goals efficiently. Applying the principles of contracts for difference over a sufficiently long initial period in analogy to the development of the hydrogen core network would appear to make sense here. As we work to establish these crucial frameworks, our commitment to partnering with communities, municipal utilities, and industrial enterprises remains stronger than ever. Together, we can plan and implement the innovative, low-carbon solutions needed for a successful energy transition.   What are your thoughts on the future of hydrogen storage? 🌱🔋 A new chapter in green hydrogen storage begins at Krummhörn! The Hydrogen Pilot Cavern (HPC) Krummhörn is ready to start, marking a significant step forward in the transition to sustainable energy. Specifically designed for green hydrogen storage, this new cavern will allow us to explore its full potential under real operational conditions. Today, Olaf Lies, Lower Saxony's Minister for Economic Affairs, alongside our CEO Michael Lewis and other distinguished guests, inaugurated the facility. The event included detailed plant tours, offering insights into Uniper’s "Greener Gases" strategy. Holger Kreetz, our COO, emphasized, "Hydrogen storage will play a decisive role in the energy transition. Our HPC Krummhörn project lays the foundations for the development of storage solutions on a commercial scale and is thus part of the implementation of the “Greener Gases” strategy.” Looking ahead, we plan to expand the Krummhörn site to a storage capacity of 250 GWh, with a vision of up to 600 GWh by 2030, supporting Europe’s green energy goals. “To this end, existing and new sites along the hydrogen core network in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia are being investigated.”, added Doug Waters, our Managing Director of Uniper Energy Storage. Strong earnings continue and green transformation implementation on schedule: Uniper H1 2024 results 📊 Our results for H1 2024 are in, and the momentum from a strong first-quarter has continued into the second quarter of the year. - First-half year earnings exceeded our expectations for the full-year 2024. We recorded an adjusted EBITDA of €1,743 million and an adjusted net income of €1,113 million. - Forecasts raised by €400 million for the 2024 financial year, for both adjusted EBITDA and adjusted net income. - Investment decisions taken totalling about €400 million for green transformation of portfolio. Our CEO Michael Lewis: “The course has been set for a successful future for Uniper. We’re prepared to do our part to accelerate the energy transition. At the same time, we will meet our obligations and have recognized a provision for payments to the federal government currently amounting to around €3.4 billion.” #TheBeatingHeartofEnergy #UniperH1Results #investor

Uniper names Joseph Deluzio as new President & CEO of North American operations. Joseph steps into the role from his position as Senior Managing Director for North American Trading. He succeeds Tina Bradshaw who was named CCO for Uniper’s global power business in June. "I am excited to support Uniper’s strategic goals and I am sure that with the great team we have in place in North America we will succeed achieving the targets we defined as a company," Joseph said. Our North American business unit has been active for more than a decade, conducting mid-stream trading and supply activities across the US and Canada that facilitate the flow of energy from domestic producers to downstream end-use markets. Our business focus in North America is developing reliable energy supply solutions that help customers achieve their security of supply and net zero objectives in an affordable manner.
