Meet Heiko! - #MeetOurExperts Heiko is the Head of Structural Engineering at Vector Foiltec. He has 24 years of experience in engineering of optimized structures for membranes and joined Vector Foiltec in 2016. He is a civil engineer and loves the technical intricacies of ETFE systems. He says: “ETFE foil as a cladding system has very unique properties in many respects. In addition to the obvious advantages in terms of weight, transparency, and durability, from an engineering perspective, there are many special aspects that need to be taken into account during the design stage to ensure that the structure is optimized and performs as planned.” We asked him “What inspired you to pursue a career in your field of expertise?” Listen to his answer in our audio snippet. #VectorFoiltec #Texlon #ETFE #MeetOurExpert #MeetTheTeam #Teamwork #StructuralEngineering

Nature's inspiration guides designers in creating visual masterpieces. To make striking visual architecture, designers frequently turn to the natural world for ideas and inspiration. Today is World River Day and we want to highlight how this organic, flowy shape can be achieved with ETFE. 🌊 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: ✅ They symbolize life, growth, and connectivity. ✅ Their fluid forms create natural, inviting spaces. ✅ They remind us of our deep connection to nature. Let's honor the lifeblood of our planet and the inspiration behind some architectural buildings. 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 - 𝗔 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: ▶️ The Assima Mall, Kuwait: This architectural gem captures the essence of flowing water in its design, creating a unique oasis of commerce in the heart of Kuwait City. ▶️ Waitomo Caves, New Zealand: "Waitomo" comes from the Māori language, with "wai" meaning water and "tomo" referring to a sinkhole or doline. The visitor center's design emphasizes the connection to the Waitomo stream. The underground river is a vital component of the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. ▶️ FukangCheng Shopping Center, Kunming, China: With its Kunming-lake-like shape, this mall takes visitors on a journey through retail, mirroring the natural flow of water. ▶️ Botany Town Centre, New Zealand: The roof is shaped like an eel net. It's meant to be an homage to the local fishermen who caught eels in the nearby Pakuranga Creek river until about 2018 when eel fishing was banned. These innovative designs showcase how rivers continue to inspire and shape our urban landscapes, even in unexpected places like shopping centers. As we reflect on the importance of rivers today, let's appreciate how their influence extends far beyond their banks, shaping our built environment. Atria and courtyards are becoming the oasis of modern cities and create habitable spaces. Most people live in areas with fluctuating weather. When it is hot outside, we want coverage from the sun and cool air conditioning. When it is cold, we want the warmth of the sunlight. – Preferably we would like to be outside while enjoying ideal temperatures. How can this be possible?? That is where Texlon® ETFE covered atria come in place. We have a solution for atrium areas that are not covered (yet). Reaching comfortable conditions is an achievement which can be obtained with a Texlon® ETFE system. Is your atria covered with a material that doesn’t allow a high light transmission? Replace it with Texlon® ETFE. It is one of the best ways to create an outdoor atmosphere: ETFE lets in natural light which lets plants and humans thrive. The feeling of being outdoors, combined with spectacular acoustic features, generate a most pleasant environment. Build with ETFE and enjoy! 🏗️ Architects and Engineers, let's talk ETFE vents! 🌬️ Did you know that Texlon® ETFE systems can incorporate independently controllable vents for natural ventilation? ✅ Functionality Texlon® ETFE systems can incorporate vents or openable panels that allow for natural ventilation, independently controlled. ✅Design Integration The vents are typically designed as actuated panels integrated into the overall Texlon® ETFE cushion system. ✅Automation The vents can be connected to building management systems (BMS) and automated controls. They can response to temperature, humidity, or air quality sensors. ✅Benefits Allows for passive cooling and fresh air circulation. It enhances occupant, animal and plant comfort through natural airflow. ✅Considerations The size, number, and placement of vents need to be carefully engineered to achieve desired airflow patterns. We also offer solutions for smoke vents! Ready to breathe new life into your next project? Let's talk about how to incorporate vents into a Texlon® ETFE cladding solution to transform your building's performance and sustainability. #VectorFoiltec #Texlon #ETFE #NaturalVentilation #GlasVents #AluminumVents #Design #Architecture #Vent
