World Architecture Festival is where the world architecture community meets to celebrate learn, exchange and be inspired. It is the only architecture event where keynote talks from the industry’s most influential figures sit alongside live crit presentations and judging of over 500 award finalists, global networking, a strong gallery and an international product exhibition.

  • In the first of our #WAF24 Special Prize announcements we share the 9 projects that have been shortlisted for the Sustainability Prize, supported by ROCKWOOL Group. Alongside the main WAF award categories the special prizes are awarded to projects that demonstrate excellence in a particular area. All the completed building projects on the Sustainability Prize shortlist showcase new ways in which sustainable materials can be deployed in projects of any scale including the brief, design, materials and construction and longevity.   • At this year’s #Inside24 shortlist judging day, Angus Morrogh-Ryan, director at De Matos Ryan Architects, commented on how shortlisted projects have evolved over the years and become more focused on re-use and sustainability, reflecting the current interests and issues of the outside world.     Today 33 extraordinary projects have been announced as this year’s World Architecture Festival WAFX winners across 11 key categories. The WAFX Awards are for future projects that address major architectural issues facing society and the planet. The winners celebrate international proposals that embrace design vision and innovation, ranging from the use of smart technology and reuse of buildings, to ageing and health, and tackling the climate emergency. The overall winner of WAFX will be announced during the live festival in November.   • The finest examples of global interior design are revealed today as the shortlist for the 2024 Inside World Festival of Interiors is announced, ahead of the live event taking place at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore this November. The shortlist represents 87 completed interiors from across the globe. There are 10 categories ranging from Residential, Hotels and Bars & Restaurants to Workplace, Public Buildings and Meanwhile Use, each giving a window into the most cutting-edge interior design innovations, concepts, processes and trends from around the world.
