The prompt arrival of doctors at incident sites is paramount to saving lives. A feasibility study initiated in 2018 by our partner ADAC Luftrettung, Europe's leading emergency medical service (EMS) provider, showed that multicopter aircraft like our #VoloCity have the potential to shape and improve the rescue service of the future. Stay tuned for our #VolocopterInEMS series to explore the advantages of using our aircraft as an emergency response vehicle.

#OnThisDay in 1783, the first air balloon took flight at the courtyard of the Palace of Versailles! Built by the Montgolfier brothers, the balloon flew for around 8 minutes, astonishing a crowd of 130,000 people. 241 years after the Montgolfier brothers made aviation history, Volocopter completed the world's first crewed #eVTOL flight on the same premises. One could say: same place, different years – making #aviation history! . . . Retrieved from the Library of Congress, https://lnkd.in/eFuVQmBg.

This week, Volocopter joined International Civil Aviation Organization's inaugural Advanced Air Mobility Symposium in Montreal, Canada: #AAM2024. The symposium’s theme, ‘Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Global Harmonization and Interoperability: Challenges and Opportunities,’ gathered aviation, academic, regulatory, and governmental stakeholders from all over the world. Volocopter, has represented the #eVTOL industry from its inception, acknowledging the vital role ICAO and States have in supporting the harmonization of airworthiness requirements for #AAM and easing the launch of electric aircraft globally to enable sustainable air mobility. The symposium was attended by our very own Chief Risk and Certification Officer, Oliver Reinhardt, and Regulatory Affairs Manager, Barbara Zyguła, both speaking at panels dedicated to the cause. The event is an enormous motivator for Volocopter, as it shows that #eVTOLs are on the international agenda for development! Thank you, #ICAO, for the excellent organization and efforts to enable Advanced Air Mobility. We look forward to what the future holds!

Avionics systems are the heart – and flight controls are the brains of an aircraft. This is how we describe the importance of #avionics in developing and certifying safe #eVTOLs at Volocopter. Avionics, short for Aviation Electronics, refers to the electronics systems used in aircraft. From communication, navigation, flight control, and monitoring systems, avionics provides pilots and air traffic controllers with real-time data for safe aircraft operations. With over 40 experts, the Avionics & Flight Controls team at Volocopter is responsible for integrating these systems into the aircraft. Sergii Kliaznyka joined Volocopter four years ago as an Avionics Systems Engineer. Since then, he has worked closely with his department fellows to grasp the complexity and uniqueness of Volocopter's #eVTOL design – and transform this complexity into easily understandable displays for pilots. Sergii's passion for his craft and strong sense of accountability are greatly valued by his supervisor and colleagues, earning him this month's #EmployeeSpotlight.

The successful flight test at the Palace of Versailles is a direct result of joint efforts between Volocopter, Groupe ADP, and the French Direction Generale de l'Aviation Civile. Not only were the views majestic, but the quiet flight at the palace gardens was a victory for all parties involved, who held many discussions and flight scenarios to reach our goal. The result demonstrated that collaboration, constant communication, and trust are the only way to accelerate the integration of #eVTOL technology in Paris and other global cities! After all, only with such exchanges is it possible to realize the vision of a #sustainable air mobility. . . . Our recent test flights in Paris are worth a celebration! Flights and ground testing at the newly inaugurated Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole vertiport found us maneuvering our aircraft in and out, respecting active airport safety and air operation rules. Concurrently, we tested the newly installed battery charging station and collected first-hand data on validating aircraft operations. This is essential to making #eVTOLs a norm in Paris and beyond. Additionally, the final flight at the Palace of Versailles is a testament to the high maneuverability of the multicopter design and the trust placed in Volocopter's vision and technology, highlighting the progress of our partnerships in France and solidifying our leading position in the industry. We are thankful to Groupe ADP for the unmatched partnership and collaboration synergy, the French Direction Generale de l'Aviation Civile for the absolute trust in granting us the permit to fly, EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency for the continuous guidance on our journey to type certification, and our long-standing partner ADAC Luftrettung for the confidence in our aircraft to enhance emergency medical services. We would like to also extend our thanks to all the experts of leading aviation authorities, suppliers for supporting us along, and everyone who joined us in Paris. Let’s continue trailblazing the new #eVTOL industry, together! . . . Aerials: Alexis Olas, Arthur Maneint, Cedric Nussli & Loic Borne
