💡 Last week, WFO’s Agni Argyri and Louise Efthimiou had the privilege of speaking at the Leadvent Group Conference on Floating Offshore Wind in Amsterdam. 🎤 🌊 Agni participated in a panel on harmonization between #floating offshore #wind and commercial fishing industry. Here are some key takeaways: 🌍 The expansion of offshore wind power is vital for combating climate change and achieving emissions reduction goals. ⚓ As #maritime activities increase, ensuring #coexistence among industries competing for space is crucial. 🎣 The growth of offshore #renewables raises concerns about displacing the fishing industry from traditional grounds, highlighting the need for effective Marine #SpatialPlanning. 📊 We need more data on the long-term impacts on both industries, emphasizing the necessity for improved data sharing. 🌐 Different countries have varying regulations, and more collaboration is needed to find a consistent approach. Louise shared insights on the ongoing efforts of WFO’s Floating Offshore Wind Committee (FOWC) to digitalize floating #wind O&M. She discussed condition monitoring systems and digital twins, addressing their potential advantages in performance and cost-effectiveness. The audience expressed curiosity about the practical applications of these technologies, and we’re excited to announce that our upcoming publication is supposed to help provide some clarity on these topics! 🔦 🔧 🤖 Thank you for the invitation and the fantastic organization, Leadvent Group! As we continue to explore the synergies between floating offshore wind and other maritime industries, it's clear that collaboration and innovation are key. We look forward to sharing our insights and advancements as we work towards a sustainable future! 🌿 #FloatingWind #OffshoreWind #Digitalization #WindEnergy #FloatingOffshoreWind

After a successful WFO Global Summit in Barcelona this January, we're kicking off our 2025 activities for the Floating Offshore Wind Committee (FOWC)! 🙌 🌊 Here's a quick recap of our February FOWC Subcommittee meetings: ➡️ Interface Risk Subcommittee 📄⚠️: Interface risks are technical, commercial and operational – being able to properly quantify them is key to realizing commercial scale floating wind farms. Our third meeting continued with the technology provider’s perspective on floating wind contracting structures. Principle Power’s CCO Aaron Smith and Stiesdal Offshore’s CEO Peder Nickelsen shared on their experience from pilot projects and addressed what must be done to ensure fair and competitive contracts that in a first step support the coupled design process. Decisions in this phase affect the ensuing construction, installation and maintenance activities. ➡️ ECB Subcommittee: 🌊 🌎 Floating offshore wind offers a low-carbon energy solution, with strategies to reduce emissions, while innovative marine planning tools help ensure its sustainable coexistence with other ocean industries. Our 7th meeting was hosted by Principle Power, with David Augusto Ferreira do Couto Fonseca da Silva speaking on “How floating offshore wind projects can minimize lifecycle emissions while maintaining efficiency and scalability. Sigurd Solheim Pettersen from DNV provided insights on “How offshore wind projects can coexist with other marine industries while mitigating environmental and economic conflicts, based on MARCO project”. ➡️ Serial Production Subcommittee: 🚢 The first Serial Production Committee meeting set the scene for collaborative strategies to optimize port infrastructure and supply chains for GIG-scale serial fabrication of steel and concrete substructures. With a focus on LEAN manufacturing, automation, and standardization, the committee aims to develop internationally implementable “Pragmatic Guidelines” to drive efficiency and scalability in offshore wind. Exciting discussions led by Chairman Darren McQuillan from Bardex® Corporation and Co-Chair Immanuel C. from Saitec Offshore Technologies. 💡 Learn more about our FOWC Subcommittees and get in touch 👉 https://lnkd.in/eVwV6_nj #floatingwind #offshorewind #windenergy #offshorewindenergy #floatingoffshorewind Christoph Knop Azadeh Nassiri Sophie FELLAH Roland Teixeira de Mattos Tania Moreira Jean-Philippe Pagot Brian McGrellis Roeland De Rycker Louise Efthimiou Agni Argyri

EDF Renewables is delighted to reflect on another successful participation at the Wind Expo 2025 organized by WORLD FORUM OFFSHORE WIND (WFO), Japan's premier event for wind energy professionals. Our continued presence underscores our commitment to the industry and the Japanese market. This year, we were thrilled to sponsor the Student Day, providing an opportunity for the next generation of renewable energy experts to showcase their offshore projects. To celebrate their hard work and innovation, we offered bento boxes with a French gastronomic twist, a gesture that was well-received and appreciated by all. Our colleague, Nemanja Komatinovic, was present to engage with the student teams, offering valuable feedback and insights on their presentations. The expo also served as an excellent platform for our committee to interact with various industry stakeholders. The discussions and exchanges were fruitful, reflecting the strong synergy between our committee and the diverse players in the Japanese wind energy sector. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Wind Expo 2025. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and contributing to a sustainable energy future.
