Hi from MGA Mobility | MGA Medical - Mobility goes Additive e.V.'s Annual Meeting! Last week, the Medical Division came together to connect, network, and most importantly: work collaboratively on shaping the future direction and finding joint projects. Why share this? Because collaboration is at the heart of EHFAM and MGA Medical members are eager to contribute holistic approaches to advancing healthcare through additive manufacturing. The energy at the meet-up was just inspiring and full of meaningful exchanges, active engagement, and a shared sense of purpose. In that same spirit, stay tuned for the announcement of #EHFAM2025!! We can’t wait to continue these important conversations next year! Until then, stay tuned, keep collaborating, and have a great weekend 🙌 #MGAMedical #AdditiveManufacturing #3Dprinting #Collaboration #FutureOfHealthcare

💡 Did you know that the #WorldPatientSafetyDay brings together patients, caregivers, healthcare workers, and leaders to improve safety in healthcare? It’s a global call to action for a safer, more reliable system - and this year, the spotlight is on correct and timely diagnosis. Why? Because diagnostic errors - missed, delayed, or incorrect diagnoses- account for 16% of preventable patient harm, often leading to serious consequences and rising costs. Getting the right diagnosis at the right time is crucial for effective treatment. (👉 https://lnkd.in/gEmXAhKf) At #EHFAM2024, we tackled this topic in one of our HONEST TALKS Patient engagement in AM for Healthcare - involving End Users with Gunpreet Oberoi, Florian De Boeck, Philipp Honigmann and Marlou de Jong. We discussed how involving patients can help cut down on diagnostic errors, enable effective treatments and improving patient outcomes - making sure innovations are designed with the end-user in mind. Because who knows better than the patient? So let’s remember: When patients, healthcare professionals, and policymakers come together, we build a healthcare system that’s not only safer but more responsive to real patient needs. And we are dedicated to shaping this future through #3DPrinting and patient-centered innovation. Together, we can keep patient safety at the core of healthcare! 🤝 #3DPBasel #AdditiveManufacturing #3Dprinting #HealthcareInnovation #FutureOfHealthcare MGA Mobility | MGA Medical - Mobility goes Additive e.V. As we continue to reflect on #EHFAM2024, we want to share some insights from Claus B.'s presentation “From Digital Endpoints to Synthetic Trial Arms – the Evolving R&D Landscape in Life Sciences from a Regulator’s Perspective.” What were the key takeaways? ▫ Embracing learning and anticipatory approaches by major stakeholders - innovators and regulators - is required to go past the regulatory gridlock experienced in medical innovation, especially for emerging technologies like AM/3D printing. ▫ Incorporating a sandbox approach can help break through these barriers, creating a collaborative space where both sides can safely explore and refine emerging technologies like 3D printing, fostering faster adaptation and innovation in healthcare. As we move forward, it is clear that the success of AM in healthcare will rely not just on technological advancements, but also on the regulatory framework's ability to adapt and evolve. Speaking the same language and adopting a proactive, forward-thinking stance will foster a more conducive environment for innovation to thrive. ⚡⚡⚡ #RegulatoryInsights #AdditiveManufacturing #3Dprinting #FutureOfHealthcare MGA Mobility | MGA Medical - Mobility goes Additive e.V. Missed out on our eye surgery workshop by Stratasys Medical Deutschland with Lena Eckenberger and Marko KONSCHAKE? No worries, here are some snapshots to give you a glimpse of the action! Check out what you missed and hopefully, next time, you’ll see it with your own eyes 👀
During the EHFAM - European Healthcare Forum for Additive Manufacturing in Basel, it was an eye-opener for me: I suspect that a doctor never forgets the moment when he made the first incision into human tissue. Performing a sophisticated operation requires not only in-depth medical knowledge but also manual dexterity in handling surgical instruments. How is a doctor prepared for this task? Body donations rarely exhibit the desired pathology. This is where the new possibilities of VR and physical simulators, as well as ultra-realistic 3D-printed anatomical models, come into play, enabling reproducible surgical scenarios based on authentic patient data. Many thanks to Lena Eckenberger, Marko KONSCHAKE and EHFAM for this opportunity. More images in the comments.

It’s a wrap! After a great networking evening yesterday, day two of #EHFAM2024 was filled with keynotes bringing an outside perspective to AM - spanning from sustainable healthcare, insights on how to measure AM impact and make a case for health investment (speaking the language that politicians, investors, & regulators understand 😉), health policy insights to meaningful discussions with AM experts and enthusiasts on important topics like pharmaceuticals, regulatory challenges, quality, standards, digitalization, supply chains, automation, pricing, reimbursement, health workforce training, patient involvement and future dimensions of AM. And let’s not forget our hands-on application workshops (yes, eye surgery training and mass personalization - personalized treatment included)! It was all about coming together for knowledge exchanges, challenges exploration, best practices and lessons sharing and embracing holistic approaches ... Now we're looking ahead to a hopeful future! And while we don’t have a crystal ball, the messages are clear: We need to promote, educate and create awareness about our AM community advancements in healthcare, network and cooperate across health disciplines and stakeholders and other sectors, generate evidence and work together towards advancing healthcare with AM. Let’s keep ensuring a healthier present and future for healthcare with AM. We are already excited for next year’s event! A special shoutout to the winners of our Pitch Contest for their outstanding presentations: 1. Place: Gunpreet Oberoi - Safe Vascular Access needle for Neonatal and Veterinary Emergency 2.
