🌊 Arburg Supports “pureelbe” Project: A 1,083 km Swim for Clean Water 🌊 From August 16 to September 10, 2024, Andreas Fath, known as the “swimming professor,” swam the entire 1,083 km length of the Elbe River in Germany to raise awareness about water pollution and microplastics. Sponsored by the K Trade Fair exhibitor ARBURG GmbH + Co KG, Hansgrohe Group and Furtwangen University, this impressive feat highlighted the urgent need for clean water and environmental protection. Arburg’s support for the “pureelbe” project aligns with its commitment to sustainable production and circular economy initiatives under the ‘arburgGREENworld’ program. Impressive Journey: Prof. Fath swam from the source of the Elbe in the Czech Republic to its mouth in Cuxhaven, covering an average of 46 km per day. Scientific Focus: Daily water samples were collected and analyzed for microplastics and a special filter membrane on his wetsuit provided additional data on water quality.
