3,29 per piece. It’s not the money-price. It’s the scope 3 CO2e “price” of our famous Bali design hand towels. From fibre to finished product. Delivered at our laundry partners’ door-step before the first rental-cycle. Scope 3 carbon emissions are difficult to estimate. Especially, if you want to rely on primary data from your supply chain. At Beirholm, we made the decision to estimate our carbon emissions based on primary data from our manufacturing partners. It was a long and tough journey but today we and our laundry partners reap the benefits: 1. If you have primary data, you can work actively to reduce the emissions instead of waiting for an average to be adjusted in a public database 2. The process of collecting primary data is a great learning journey that can generate the most feasible and high-impact reduction initiatives. Our manufacturing partners have already installed plenty of solar energy to fuel their production 3. You are able to benchmark between manufacturing setups and leverage best-practice to reduce emissions Read more about our approach to CO2-analysis here: https://lnkd.in/dQF35EpF WRP Wäscherei- und Reinigungspraxis R+WTextilservice Brancheforeningen for Vask og Tekstiludlejning Deutscher Textilreinigungs-Verband e.V. We innovate trendy and sustainable textiles with the greatest durability and laundry performance in the industry.
Om os
Beirholm competes in the global flat linen market. We develop, design, source and sell textiles to rental laundry chains and individual rental laundries in the linen rental industry. We bridge the gaps and develop synergies between four distinct industries – the textile manufacturers, our rental laundry customers, the customers of the rental laundries, e.g., hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and rest homes, and the consumers who actually experience and enjoy the textiles in use. We see ourselves in a unique role at the center of a commercial “galaxy.” It is a challenging role. It requires long-lasting collaboration across industrial, national, and cultural borders. We synchronize customer and market demands, technologies, logistics, and pricing in order to achieve the best possible results for our rental laundry customers. We select our partners with care, and we perceive them as our value creation network – independent partners who work together to optimize the opportunities in a complex business system. We interweave knowledge across industries to meet specific production, purchasing, laundering, and marketing challenges, and we work closely with the experts within each business partner organization. Our only real company asset is the people in our organization, the knowledge they possess, and their ability to apply it effectively every day.

Our partner Beirholm, innovators of sustainable textiles, is introducing recycled polyester across their collection. This change reinforces their commitment to sustainability and aligns perfectly with our shared goal of promoting eco-friendly innovations in the hospitality industry. By incorporating recycled polyester into their textiles, Beirholm is significantly reducing CO2e emissions and boosting the use of sustainable materials to over 70% in the next three years. Do you know the CO2-equivalent emissions of your textiles? Since 2017, we’ve collaborated with our manufacturing partners and Bureau Veritas to analyze the scope 3 emissions of our textiles, from fiber to finished product. Today, over 95% of our performance textiles are covered by CO2 analyses, helping our laundry partners make informed, commercially sound decisions to lower their emissions across their entire textile range while keeping customer needs in mind. We now upgrade the dining experience with more recycled content! Not only did our Table Concept get a design-overhaul recently. Now, we upgrade the collection with recycled polyester to make our table linen more circular and more sustainable. To increase our laundry partners' output, textile durability, and ultimately return on textile investment, we’ve integrated the renowned BeirTex® performance technology as well. In total, our Table Concept now offers a sublime, more circular dining experience—from casual to fine-dining! More recycled content! Our popular Piccobello design concept for hospitals and care homes are now upgraded with recycled polyester. We designed the Piccobello concept so that our laundry partners could bring joie de vivre, warmth, caring and pampering to their care home and hospital customers. Each bed linen is developed with our well-known BeirTex® technology to offer our laundry partners the advantage of greater product durability, faster drying times, and that “great cotton-feel”. So that they also can make a greater return on their textile investment. Now, we upgrade the entire range with recycled polyester to future-proof the concept. Before, each piece of linen was 50% virgin polyester and 50% cotton. Now, it’ll be 50% recycled polyester and 50% cotton. Per default. As standard! That homely feeling! Just more circular. Not just your standard bed linen! With the introduction of our next-generation performance bed linen, our laundry-partners can now inspire their hotel customers with a quality that is hard to imagine being possible. Our next-generation performance bed linen consists of 60% recycled polyester and 40% cotton. That means, that the majority of the bed linen is recycled—or more circular. Thanks to the BeirTex® technology, the hotel guest will still experience that “great cotton-feel” against the skin. Our laundry-partners, on the other hand, will experience extended product durability, greater performance, and output potential due to faster drying times. In essence, a greater return on their textile investment. The introduction of recycled polyester into our BeirTex® performance bed linen results in reduced CO2e-emissions as recycled polyester emits less than half of virgin polyester. With the introduction of recycled polyester, we expect to increase our preferred materials sourcing from 39% to more than 70% in the next 3 years. And why is this so important? Because preferred raw materials are more sustainable compared to conventional, virgin materials. Preferred raw materials help reduce the environmental- and climate footprint of our performance textiles and ultimately that of our laundry-partners. At Beirholm, we define our preferred raw materials as Better Cotton, Organic Cotton, Fairtrade cotton, Tencel, and Recycled Polyester. As a standard, we’ve chosen to include Better Cotton and now also Recycled Polyester in our collection of performance textiles. We made the decision, because it is the optimal balance – or the sweet spot - between commercial availability, price, sustainability, durability, and performance. Our sustainability approach has always been to make it mainstream. To make it the easy choice. By including Recycled Polyester in our collection, we introduce a new and commercially fit standard in the laundry market. More sustainability. More recycled materials. But still at a commercially sound level. A big step towards a more future-proof textile investment for our laundry partners.
