When Dahe Paper Group, a state-owned paper mill company in Henan Province, China, wanted to maximize the uptime of their almost 100 VACON® NXP Air Cooled drives, Danfoss Drives was the obvious choice for them. For Dahe Paper Group it was important to reduce the risk of drive faults and to minimize downtime whenever a fault occurred. This was further complicated by the distance of the Henan Province from China’s major manufacturing centers, which made it difficult to access spare parts and support. Meet Everfuel, a pioneer in green hydrogen production. For an ambitious pilot project at their flagship facility in Fredericia, Denmark, Everfuel chose our iC7-Hybrid power converter to power efficient production of this low-emission energy source. Not only did our power converters help them succeed, but they were also able to recapture excess heat to feed back to the local area. Equipped with high conversion efficiency of 98%, the iC7-Hybrid features a simplified grid connection that enables heat recovery during hydrogen production – allowing the heat recovery to be fed back into the grid for district heating in Fredericia. We call this three-step approach: Reduce, Reuse, Re-source. Danfoss Drives is happy to announce that we have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Honeywell to explore a possible collaboration on creating advanced automation solutions. Our goal is to improve how process information is made available to operators. Mika Kulju, President of the Danfoss Drives business, says: “At Danfoss, we firmly believe that the most innovative solutions come from direct cooperation with our customers and partners. With this collaboration, we will improve data integration and the commonly known lack of flexibility across automation platforms. The potential to drive growth and deliver enhanced value to our customers is enormous, hence I can only emphasize our strong commitment to making this partnership a success.” Traditional automation solutions have their drawbacks: some are highly integrated but inflexible, while others are flexible but struggle with data integration and compatibility.
