We are very excited to announce that Lasse Nørregaard has joined DANISH BIO - DANSK BIOTEK’s board as an observer! Lasse has in just a few years created an impressive track record in the early-stage life science space, and has across six different start-ups successfully been part of raising over €35 million in several fundraising rounds. Beyond his entrepreneurial success, Lasse has been heavily involved in the biotech ecosystem on many fronts, being chairman of REBBLS and staying actively involved with advising university spin-outs from DTU and KU, and teaching finance at CBS. Currently, Lasse is dividing his time between XY Therapeutics, Loma Therapeutics and Probmet Therapeutics, and has previously been in Kesmalea Therapeutics, BOOST Pharma and Epoqe Pharma ApS. We wish Lasse a warm welcome and look forward to working with him to create even better frameworks for biotech in Denmark.

DANSK BIOTEK is an active trade organisation which is in a continuous dialogue with the Danish authorities and who is recognised as an authority regarding biotechnology in the public debate. DANSK BIOTEK has furthermore taken steps to increase the public knowledge about modern biotechnology. The organisation publishes articles, participates in political meetings and in the public debate and teaches in biotech research conditions, genetic modification, ethical matters, etc. DANSK BIOTEK has an influence on decisions regarding state funds for innovative research and entrepreneurial activities and has contributed to the wording of rules and regulations regarding biotechnological patenting, research and production in Denmark and Europe. We also participate actively in biotech analyses as for instance the Analysis regarding Conditions for the Danish Capital. Furthermore, DANSK BIOTEK is collaborating with The Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (LIF) about clinical research in Denmark.

Amazing news from the Danish biotech world - and for patients with Niemann-Pick Disease, type C (NPC) in the US. The FDA has approved #arimoclomol #Miplyffa, which was developed by Thomas Kirkegaard Jensen and the team at #Orphazyme, and subsequently brought all the way to approval by Zevra Therapeutics led by their team in Copenhagen. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of co-hosting a Biotech Salon with Ozack ApS who shared their very relevant expertise in submitting CTAs in the CTIS. Ivana and Ann Christine presented in a very easily understandable way the mysterious ways of the systems, so that everyone - even the DANISH BIO dispatch - were able to follow and learn.
