"Meet Bill, he's tired of…" Today's interesting lecture was on Quantified Value Propositions 💡 It highlighted the importance of understanding your customer’s business and testing assumptions! Thomas J. Howard brought the fun example: "Meet Bill, he's tired of…" and he got us thinking about both users and customers—even in B2B. 🚀 We discussed previous keynote speakers Gridlinx, MASH Makes, and dewa, along with some great companies founded during DTU X-Tech: Tempty Foods – Innovating future foods with fungi proteins 🍄 Kombo Audio – Accessible pro audio equipment for all 🎧 Fishent – A digital nose to detect fish degradation 🐟 Curious? Reach out! Thomas J. Howard, Loris Spasojevic, Michael Kai Petersen, Troels Keldmann, Oliver Parrot, Luna Ramlyng, Sebastian Voinea, and Anna H.

Om os
DTU X-Tech is DTU Entrepreneurships flagship course-incubator, where companies can set a technology/invention/patent/technological need or challenge to explore new business opportunities. We do it through a 13-week programme, where we match your technology with a team of motivated 4-5 DTU Master's Engineering students (different background and with competences in your technology) + 1 CBS Master's student + Business Mentor + Prototyping facilities and budget. We combine it with a series of lectures on entrepreneurship, inviting renown Danish entrepreneurs to inspire them, and we give the students access to a series of specialists to assist the teams in different areas (Product Development, Business Development, Prototyping, Finances, IP Rights...). We encourage them to talk to many different stakeholders from various potential markets, trying to get LOIs from them to validate the scoped market. At the end of the semester, we organise Spin-Out Day: Our Tech Fair + Pitch Competition where the best team can win 50.000 DKK to use on startup services / prototyping, and a 200.000 DKK Discovery Loan to be unlocked at the end of their studies if they continue pursuing their venture. The students who want to continue, can use special courses or their Master's Thesis to advance in their project, so when they graduate, they are ready to go to market. The output of the programme is the backbone of a potential new spin-out company. They will develop a prototype, a business plan, and they will become a spinout-team ready to start a new venture. We run the programme twice a year (Spring and Fall semesters). If you are interested, visit our website to know more about HardTech Entrepreneurship.
