This document provides recommendations for managing symptoms in palliative wounds, ensuring better care and quality of life for patients. A new research article explores the Keystone Perforator Island Flap as a reliable option for reconstructing soft tissue defects. This technique has been used effectively in patients with wounds on the trunk and extremities, providing good functional and aesthetic outcomes with minimal complications. Now, the winner of the Best Abstract of the Year has been announced: 🧠 Justyna Cwajda-Białasik OP056: Results of a pilot study of diabetes-related foot disease (DFD) screening in an at-risk group The prizes at the EWMA Conference are designed to recognise the considerable work involved in preparing and presenting at the conference. The winner of the Best Abstract of the Year was selected by the EWMA Scientific Committee. The committee made its decision based on the abstract guidelines, ensuring that the abstract includes relevant and compelling research, as well as the following key elements: 🔹 Aim: Clearly states the purpose of the abstract. 🔹 Methods: Clearly describes the selection of observations or experimental subjects. 🔹 Results: Presents findings in a logical sequence, using text, tables, and illustrations. 🔹 Conclusions: Highlights new and significant aspects of the study (potentially as a discussion section) and draws clear and precise conclusions from them. 🎉 Congratulations, Justyna Cwajda-Białasik!
