Niels Josefsen, former CEO Lauritzen Bulkers, sends his greetings from our own handysize, open-hatch, and Danish flagged dry bulk vessel, Chilean Bulker. " I have just signed off from Chilean Bulker after a 10 day’s journey from Singapore to Mumbai. The purpose was to get a feel of what it is like being at sea in 2024 and understanding the new technology and how all the new regulations have impacted the life on board. It was a pleasure experiencing a ‘ship shape’ vessel and crew. The vessel came from drydock with silicone paint and latest data logging system. Another new technology the crew must familiarize themselves with. But seamen are known for adaptability, and I observed how they quickly saw the opportunities for reducing the fuel consumption by testing various trim conditions in various weather and sea conditions – and being able to record the results immediately and accurately. With silicone paint and trimming the crew was able to save considerable amounts of fuel and CO2 emissions. A big thanks to our technical mangers, Anglo Eastern and not least the crew for looking so well after me – making it an unforgettable experience. " #lauritzenbulkers

We are proud to announce that our first vessel, with silicone anti fouling technology applied to vessel's hull, is now ready and has just left the dry dock. This upgrade is expected to achieve a 9 percent reduction in fuel consumption and thereby in GHG emission, equivalent to 6 mts CO2 per day. This representing a significant step forward in our commitment to CO2 reduction, efficiency, and sustainability. In addition, the silicon paint is not releasing any toxic chemicals in the ocean and thereby helping the biodiversity. #lauritzenbulkers #Sustainability #CO2Reduction
