The Deforestation Regulation (#EUDR) is part of the broader European push for due diligence, enforcing stricter controls and transparency requirements on businesses importing or producing high-risk commodities. 🌿 The EUDR aims to curb global deforestation and forest degradation driven by the EU's consumption of products such as palm oil, soy, cattle, coffee, cocoa, rubber, and timber. These commodities are often linked to significant deforestation, biodiversity loss, and greenhouse gas emissions. Large and medium companies must comply by December 30th, 2024, while smaller companies should comply by June 30th, 2025. With the compliance deadlines approaching, it is crucial to start aligning your processes with EUDR standards. 🌍The EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD) is set to reshape how companies approach sustainability, mandating thorough due diligence across the value chain by 2027. For large companies, this means critical changes. From adopting climate transition plans to mitigating risks in supply chains, the directive will have a wide-reaching impact. Non-compliance could result in fines of up to 5% of global turnover, making early preparation essential. In our latest article, we dive deep into the implications of CSDDD and highlight key actions companies should consider: 1️⃣ Assess compliance

🏭 An overwhelming majority of the 2000 most influential companies are not ready to implement the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) as they currently fail to implement any key Human Rights Due Diligence steps   The World Benchmarking Alliance's report highlights a critical gap in corporate readiness for the upcoming CSDDD and Forced Labour regulations set to take effect in 2027. While companies are making strides in environmental due diligence, the same urgency has not been applied to addressing human rights concerns. The analysis of the 2000 most influential companies reveals that: 🚩 80% scored zero points on key HRDD (Human Rights Due Diligence) steps such as identifying, assessing, and addressing human rights risks and impacts. 🚩 20% have begun implementing some initial HRDD measure 🔵 only 6% have fully integrated these practices There's a significant opportunity for improvement in ensuring robust human rights due diligence.
