  • Congratulations to Spectre A/S on the Science Based Targets initiative official validation! We're proud to have supported the team in aligning their growth plans with science-based climate goals, balancing decarbonisation with business success. Setting ambitious targets is essential for meaningful action, and Spectre's commitment to reducing GHG emissions by 42% for scope 1 and 2, 25% for scope 3 by 2030, and the net-zero goal of 90% or more by 2047, is truly commendable.   A special shoutout to Krišjānis Dzalbe, Anda Razgale and the whole Spectre team for their dedication in driving this progress. Here’s to many more milestones and a successful path to net-zero 🌿

Spectre A/S Science Based Targets are approved! Science Based Targets initiative has validated Spectre's targets to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% and scope 3 GHG emissions 25% by 2030 from a 2022 base year and reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2047. Having set climate targets enables Spectre to be specific and purposeful with climate action going forward. But it's already been a long road of learning and developing to reach this milestone. 🙌 The first trial by fire was having Deloitte auditors provide limited assurance 🔎 for the environmental data of our FY 2022/23 Responsible Business Report. That helped us set up a robust GHG inventory. Anda Razgale joining the team as ESG data analyst at that time allowed us to put Spectre's ESG data management in a higher gear. 🚄 Anda's work on target documentation and great support from Sebastian Howarth and Matteo Perico of Nordic Sustainability ensured that the SBT validation process went smoothly. Setting climate targets and deciding on the ambition level was a key part of the development of Spectre's Responsible Business Strategy 🎯 and keeping true to our B Corp values. Reconciling Spectre's growth ambitions with decarbonization was a major discussion topic as we do not want to set targets that we could not deliver on. Again, we leaned on the support from Nordic Sustainability with Maja Johannessen and others helping us develop the strategy. The strategy is the result of the strong commitment to do business responsibly from company management and ownership, especially from Jesper Klausen being very practically involved also in drafting Spectre’s plan towards decarbonization together with Kenneth Rønne Jensen and Jochen Lagemann leading task groups on own operations, supply chain and products & services respectively. Having a value chain perspective means moving in one direction together with other stakeholders. To successfully decarbonize we must work with brands that are on the same path and Spectre is proud to be working with many of the most sustainably minded functional apparel brands out there. 🤝 Being members of European Outdoor Group (EOG) and Cascale Spectre feel the drive and support towards decarbonization from industry associations, requiring their members to set SBTs. The push from regulators towards decarbonization is also a key factor. CSRD requires to report on transition plans for a climate-neutral economy and limiting global warming to 1.5 °C. Therefore, having SBTs is also a step in preparing for Spectre's first CSRD complaint report. 📄 I am looking forward to updating you all on the soon-to-come unveiling of Spectre's Responsible Business Strategy as we are now finalizing an actionable deployment plan together with the strategy to kickstart its implementation.

  • Is your company ready for CBAM?    The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (#CBAM) is the EU’s initiative to impose a fair price on CO2 emissions from the production of carbon-intensive goods entering the EU. The regulation aims to tackle carbon leakage and drive the shift towards more sustainable production.    ⏳ In 2026, CBAM takes full effect, requiring importers of goods, such as steel, cement, and aluminium, into the EU to purchase carbon certificates. The directive is currently being phased in, and companies in scope must report on a quarterly basis.  In our latest explainer, our climate expert, Caterina, breaks down what CBAM means for your business and the steps you need to take to ensure compliance. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/db9DJdQD
