We are saddened by the news of Henry W. Dienst passing; SIMPSON's former Chairman of the Board of Directors. Henry, joined Simpson in 1964, became President in 1970, and Chairman in 1988. He led the company through significant growth, including securing its largest order and celebrating its 100th anniversary. He also served as President of the Casting Industry Suppliers Association and the American Foundry Society, receiving the CIS Presidents Award in 1995. Henry’s #leadership and dedication to the #foundry industry, along with his service in the U.S. Navy, leave a lasting legacy. We at Norican send our thoughts and condolences to the Dienst family during this difficult time. 🕊
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Henry W. Dienst, former Chairman of the Board of Directors at Simpson. Henry's passing marks the end of an era, as he played a pivotal role in guiding Simpson through major milestones over his long and dedicated career. Henry joined the company full-time in 1964, following in the footsteps of his predecessors, and became the fourth generation of his family to lead Simpson when he assumed the role of President in 1970 and Chairman in 1988. During his tenure, Simpson achieved remarkable growth, including securing the largest order in our history with the Kama River Truck Plant in Russia. Henry also oversaw the construction of Simpson's former headquarters in Aurora, IL, and led the company in celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2012. Beyond Simpson, Henry served as President of both the Casting Industry Suppliers Association and the American Foundry Society, guiding AFS during its own centennial celebration. His contributions to the industry were widely recognized, and in 1995, he received the prestigious CIS Presidents Award for his service. Henry also served in the United States Navy for four years. The Dienst family's deep ties to the foundry industry are unmatched, with multiple generations leading both Simpson and key industry organizations, including the FEF - Foundry Educational Foundation. As we reflect on Henry’s legacy, we remember his vision, leadership, and dedication, which will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
