A recent study published in Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology explores how Far-UVC technology can effectively reduce bacteria in these high-risk zones. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝? Researchers examined how well a ceiling-mounted Far-UVC system could decontaminate surfaces near sink drains, a common source of hospital outbreaks. They also looked at how reflective surfaces could help improve the light's effectiveness. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: - Far-UVC reduced bacterial loads by up to 1.9 log10 CFU on directly exposed surfaces - Shaded areas also saw reductions, with improvements when reflective surfaces were used. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: This study suggests that Far-UVC could play a critical role in infection control, especially in high-risk areas of hospitals.
