Tillykke til vinderne af Årets Lærlingepris 2025 👏 Vi er utroligt stolte af, at vores dygtige kollega Saif Al-azawi var blandt de nominerede til Årets Lærlingepris 2025. Selvom prisen ikke gik til Saif denne gang, er hans nominering en velfortjent anerkendelse af hans store engagement, faglige dygtighed og stærke arbejdsmoral. Saif afsluttede sin uddannelse som procesoperatør i december og er nu en fast del af vores malerafdeling. Han er en værdsat kollega, der hver dag bidrager positivt til teamet. Installation of two robotic cells 🔧 In our cleaning chamber, we want to ensure a good working environment and automate workpiece handling and manual grinding tasks. We have therefore upgraded our production with two new robotic cells from SiiF, which have already shown positive signs of improvement in both efficiency and ergonomics. By automating handling and grinding tasks, we increase flexibility and ensure consistent high quality in our products. This investment is part of our ongoing development to strengthen production and maintain our position as a leading supplier of cast iron. #BIRN #automation #production #innovation #robotics #foundry

Digital tools optimize work at the machine factory 👏 At the machine factory, we have recently tested a new solution with tablets at CNC centers and screens in the ceiling to give operators, technicians and managers faster access to machine status. The system provides a quick overview of whether the machines are running, missing goods, in changeover, broken down or otherwise. This allows the responsible people to react quickly and efficiently. The increased visibility has strengthened collaboration within the team, as operators can help each other and minimize downtime. The screens also serve as an effective management tool. In addition to being accessible in production, we have a corresponding screen in the office where management, technicians and operators can follow machine availability and status. The system can also be accessed via mobile, so data is always at your fingertips. Although machine monitoring is not new, the increased availability and visibility has resulted in an improvement in uptime (OEE) of up to 5-10%. The solution currently covers 12 machines and has been in operation for just under a year. The plan is to expand to all machines at the machine factory by 2025. #BIRN #EfficientProduction #Digitalization

Two new foundry technicians at BIRN 🔥 We are delighted to celebrate Angelo and Serhii, who have just completed their education as foundry technicians. Throughout their apprenticeship, they have shown great curiosity, drive and a strong will to learn, which is why we are pleased that they will continue as foundry technicians at BIRN.   Their dedication and commitment have paid off, which is also reflected in their excellent results in their apprenticeship exams.   We look forward to the continued collaboration and congratulate them both on their education 👏   #BIRN #FoundryTechnician #Education

Skill as the first course 👨🏫 At BIRN we are committed to giving our apprentices a thorough understanding of the many steps in the moulding process and their importance. We want our apprentices to feel that they are an active and important part of the daily life at BIRN. That's why we've introduced fortnightly apprentice-only morning meetings, where in-depth professional insights into technical issues and foundry technology topics are on the agenda. "I have seen on several occasions that even apprentices who have the day off come to the morning meeting anyway," says Kurt Bjarne Larsen, Foundry Technical Manager at BIRN. "The meetings are a great forum to get a thorough explanation of how we have solved a particular technical challenge and how we will approach it in the future." Our AI solution swiftly analyzes and accounts for the unique costs of individual components, allowing us to provide faster and more accurate pricing to our customers. This not only enhances efficiency but also reinforces our commitment to delivering excellent service. With our price calculator, we’ve reduced the time spent on price calculations by an impressive 90%.
