Kiisa battery park – the largest battery storage plant in the region – has reached a decisive milestone: the installation of the first 330 kV underground cable in Estonia. 🏆⚡The cable, with an impressive diameter of 12.5 cm and nearly 500 meters long, is supplied by Prysmian and it represents a technological and logistical feat. ▶ The next steps include the cable terminations to complete the connection, paving the way for a state-of-the-art energy storage solution. Project will be finalized by summer 2025, marking a unique achievement in the development of Estonia's energy infrastructure.

The heat and energy technology conference by Dienas Bizness in Latvia brought together main specialists in the field, including Evecon. The main conclusion of the conference was that the potential for faster development in the heat supply industry lies in cross-sectoral cooperation – this allows more efficient use of available resources, learning new technologies, finding solutions for providing services that are accessible to the public and economically reasonable for producers. Evecon in cooperation with the investment fund Mirova and Wiso Engineering opened in Kirikmäe the largest solar park in the Baltics – 77.5 MW. 🔋 This is more than twice the capacity of the largest existing solar park in Estonia. New solar park has 117,600 solar panels on 110 hectares, which cover the annual energy needs of 35,000 households with the produced portable energy. In addition to the largest solar park in the Baltics in Kirikmäe, two more solar parks also started operations this month – 12.8 MW solar park in Viljandi County and 15.5 MW solar park in Järva County. Combining the three solar parks, Evecon has contributed to increasing the production capacity of solar energy in Estonia to 1025 MW.☀️

Last week, Baltic Storage Platform – a joint venture between Evecon, French company CORSICA SOLE and the investment fund Mirova – laid the cornerstone of the largest battery park complex in continental Europe. This is an important step to ensure the synchronisation of the Baltic countries to the European grid in 2025. The total capacity of the park is 200 MW and it covers the electricity needs of 90,000 households. 🌍🔋 Kiisa's storage park will be completed next year.

Evecon reforests nearly 13 hectares to replace the trees cut down for a solar farm    Evecon, the leading solar farm builder in the Baltic states, is planting 12.72 hectares of forest in Järva county, which is twice the size of the compulsory planting area established in relation to the construction of their new solar farm.   Evecon in cooperation with the French investment fund Mirova will complete a 15.5 MW solar farm this summer in Imavere. 7.81 hectares of woodland with low-value deciduous trees was cleared to construct the production unit.  The detailed plan established that the company is to reforest an area covering 125% of that. In reality, a total area of 12.72 hectares will be reforested.   On Friday, the staff of Evecon group took part in a tree-planting day. Reforestation was organised on five different plots of land with the help of cooperation partners Tornator Eesti OÜ and Talumets OÜ.   “As a renewable energy company, we prioritise the steps taken to improve the surrounding environment as much as we value the use of green energy, and we support the development of local communities,” said Valdur Viiklepp, Evecon’s construction manager. “It is important to our team that each community we meet during the development of our solar farms feels good.” He adds that the reforestation project in Järva rural municipality is related with these efforts.   Evecon is an Estonian energy company developing wind and solar farms in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. To date, Evecon’s renewable energy development projects have been completed and provide electricity from 59 MW of generating capacity. Evecon, alone or in cooperation with its joint ventures, is currently building an additional 200 MW of generating capacity by mid-2024. In addition, the company has 850 MW of active photovoltaic projects and 900 MW of wind projects under development in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, which will be connected to the grid by the end of 2026 and 2027.
