We won an Emmy! The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognized the Ukrainian war special 'Ira de Putin' with a 'News Emmys Award for Coverage of a Breaking News Story,' an NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises production in which we were a key partner. During the first 21 days of the conflict, our correspondents Cecilia Guardati and Oliver G. Marsden, edited by Gabriel Pecot, led coverage inside Ukraine for Noticias Telemundo Communications on the war unleashed by Russia. In challenging conditions and risking their safety, they traveled the country making more than 60 live connections, 23 reports, and the special broadcast 'La ira de Putin' for the Spanish-language signal. Our journalists reported on the bombings in Kyiv, showed citizens' resistance in Odesa, and followed the dramatic exodus of refugees through Lviv. They interviewed politicians, volunteers, and civilians to portray the war's political, historical, and human dimensions. In addition to their work, our reporters Pablo Tosco and Jennifer Seefoo were specially deployed to report on the first evacuation flight of Ukrainian refugees to Europe. We at JUT Media are highly honored to contribute to this "News Emmy Award for Coverage of a Breaking News Story in Spanish," which recognizes the on-the-ground work of this incredible group of journalists and the dedication of our fixers Yuri and Mask, as well as that of the spectacular Noticias Telemundo team led by Julio Vaqueiro. We want to thank the network for their confidence in our work and the support of their staff: Ana Avila, Senior Assignment Editor; Fabiola Ortiz, International Assignment Editor; and producers Alvaro Castro, Lourdes Hurtado, Marcos Alvarez, Rubi Hurtado, Ivan Cruz, Adrian Fernandez, and Adriana Forero. We would also like to highlight the constant support of Alfonso Bauluz and Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Spain, the freelance colleagues in the field with whom we joined forces, the assistance of Battleforce insurance, and the patience of our families and friends who suffered every step of the way. Finally, we would like this Emmy to be a tribute to the value of the work done by small journalism companies like ours. Long live journalism!
