Solar Distribution / DE article of Revamping and Repowering: “Germany is a Sleeping Giant” A segment gathering momentum, repowering older installations is feasible today because of: * twice the efficieny of PV modules (from 12 percent efficiency 10 years ago to 24 percent today) ⚽; * all time low prices of new modules (In the European market indications ranging from €0.100/W to €0.120/W) 🏐; * no red tape on retrofitting (building a new installation in the same location as a previous one does not require a new construction permit) 🏀. Just like with any new project, there are options for self-financing... OR taking it over with a new PPA (or just optimizing for self-consumption). Ran our models to specifically target matching commercial & industrial locations and now supporting 1682 leads with pre-existing PV to benefit from repower or optimize with BESS (100kWp+).
