This immersive experience was designed to provide students with a nuanced understanding of Egypt's evolving business landscape through a blend of academic discourse, industry engagement and cultural exploration. The program featured a series of expert-led sessions, offering students valuable insights from distinguished professionals and academics: - Entrepreneurship in Egypt and the MENA Region: Ayman Ismail, founding director of AUC Venture Lab Lab. - Opportunities and Challenges in the Egyptian Tourism Sector: Moataz Sedky, general manager at Travco Holidays Egypt. - The story of Onsi Sawiris School of Business and Egypt’s Business Landscape: A discussion with Sherif Kamel, Dean of the Onsi Sawiris School of Business. - Human Capital and Labor Market Dynamics: Dina Abdel Fattah, assistant professor and chair of the Mohamed Shafik Gabr Department of Economics. - 21st Century Leadership: Professor Frederic Hachez, Hult Ashridge Executive Education. - Sports Marketing: Ahmed Yakout, senior marketing and CRM specialist at Al Ahly Sporting Club Football Company. Complementing these sessions, students participated in strategic site visits to prominent organizations, including: - PwC Egypt Technology & Innovation Centre (ETIC): Exploration of regional digital transformation initiatives. - SEKEM Group: Examination of sustainable development and community-focused business models. - Edita Food Industries: Insights into the dynamics of Egypt's snack food industry. - Egyptian German Automotive "EGA"(Mercedes-Benz): A guided tour of their manufacturing facilities. Beyond the business curriculum, the program facilitated an in-depth cultural immersion, encompassing visits to iconic historical sites such as the Pyramids, Islamic - Coptic Cairo and AUC campuses. The program culminated in an exclusive reception at the residence of Nuala O'Brien, at the Embassy of Ireland Cairo, marking an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration, followed by a certificate ceremony recognizing student participation. Onsi Sawiris School of Business CEMS students kicked of their Tribal Leadership project by interviewing Hashem El Dandarawy. For the third year, the class journeys to Dandara on the Nile to learn all about local leadership. As part of this experience, students can make an impact by producing case studies; in 2022, two projects were selected for publishing by Ivey Publishing.
