  • We’re building all wrong. Buildings aren’t just expensive to build—they’re very expensive to keep running. Bills for water, electricity, heating, cooling... they never end. And on top of that, they’re polluting the planet. We kept asking ourselves, how did it get to this point? How did buildings become something that costs so much and harms the earth? Then it hit us: we’ve lost touch with nature. Architects, engineers, and builders don’t work with nature anymore. That’s where things fall apart. At BIOTONOMY, we’re changing that. We build self-sufficient buildings that work with nature. They create their own energy, collect their own water, grow food, and handle waste naturally. And the best part? Almost zero utility bills. For years, we’ve been training people through our Academy programs. Many of our team members started as students and are now part of this global movement to transform how we build for the future! Next week, we’re opening our Online Academy Program again! This is the LAST chance to join the waiting list before we close it. If you’re ready to learn how to build a better, smarter future, this is your moment! Link’s in our bio! #biotonomy #naturebasedsolutions #bioconstruction

  • We’re about to launch something that will change how cities are restored with nature! This week, we had the honor of presenting our new solution to the Mayor of Málaga (Francisco de la Torre Prados) and the Minister of Tourism of Andalusia (Carlos Arturo Bernal Bergua). Both leaders are fully behind us in bringing Nature Based Solutions to the city and region. Their support is a game-changer for what’s coming next! Right now, we’re already working with Málaga on projects that will set new standards for restoring cities. But here’s the exciting part — we’re almost ready to share this innovation with you. So stay tuned—it’s going to be big! BIOTONOMY - Nature Based Architecture #Biotonomy #Malaga #Andalusia #NatureBasedSolutions

  • What if driving through the city could be peaceful instead of stressful? This street in Chengdu, China, is a great example of how easily we can make that happen with Nature Based Solutions. Green walls aren’t just about beauty—they create healthier environments by: ◾ Cleaning the Air - Plants capture harmful pollutants, giving you fresher, cleaner air to breathe. ◾ Reducing Noise - Vegetation can cut urban noise by up to 50%, making for a quieter, more peaceful environment. ◾ Cooling Down the Streets - Green walls and trees help lower temperatures, making streets more comfortable on hot days. At BIOTONOMY, we envision a world where every part of cities is designed to make you feel good and at peace. Share this post and help inspire your city to welcome nature for a healthier, calmer urban future. 📷 @Khanjipeerwala #Biotonomy #Greencities #NatureBasedSolutions

  • Forget the greenery. The real impact is much bigger than we ever imagined. When you look at a picture like this, you’re only seeing a fraction of the story. At first glance, green walls might seem like just decoration or a way to support plants and wildlife. But there’s so much more happening behind the scenes. The way people react tells a deeper story — these projects send a powerful message: your environment and well-being matter. And believe me, that message can move an entire city! When people feel cared for, something incredible happens. They start to believe that change is possible. They dream of new possibilities for their communities and take action to make them real. That spark of inspiration spreads fast. Policymakers, neighbors, and businesses all get involved, supporting bigger, more sustainable solutions. So trust me, it’s not just about the plants. It’s about proving that we can build cities that care for us all. And that’s exactly what’s happening in #Málaga Spain. We thought we were just installing a green wall, but we had no idea it would inspire change across the entire city. • Something is deeply wrong with our cities. They are quietly making us weaker—and most people have no idea. We humans evolved in nature, and our bodies are wired to function within the Earth's natural frequency of 7.83 Hz — Also known as the Schumann Resonance . Today, power lines, Wi-Fi, and technology disrupt our connection to nature, surrounding us with electromagnetic pollution that increases stress and disconnection. The good news is that The solution is simple. By bringing nature back into our cities, we can bring back the Earth's natural frequency in our cities — making us stronger and healthier. That's exactly the objective of our Vertical Forest project in #Zaragoza, Spain. Here's how we're bringing nature back Vertically: ◾ Vertical gardens to purify the air. ◾ Water fountains to create calming, positive energy. ◾ Green roofs & parks for people to relax and recharge. ◾ Habitats for birds, bees, and wildlife to reconnect humans with nature. This isn't just about making cities look green—it's about improving the quality of life for people. And the best part? You can be part of this movement. Through our Online Academy program, you can learn how to design and develop urban restoration projects like this. Join our waiting list to learn more! #Biotonomy #greencities #naturbasedsolutions

  • They said it wouldn’t last... But 17 years later, this green wall is still thriving! 🌿 Most people think vertical gardens don’t work in the long run. That’s because they’ve heard about the ones that failed—not the ones that succeeded. But here’s the truth - When done right, green walls can last for decades and bring massive benefits to our cities. Take this project, for example. Installed in 2008 in Aix-en-Provence, France , it has thrived for 17 years, transforming a boring concrete bridge into a lush, living ecosystem. And the impact?  Mind-blowing: ✅ Cools the city: Lowers temperatures by 5-10°C ✅ Reduces noise: Cuts traffic noise by up to 40% ✅ Boosts biodiversity: Provides a home for plants, insects, and birds  ✅ Cleans the air: Absorbs CO₂ and filters pollutants This project, designed by Patrick Blanc, proves that when experts build and care for vertical gardens, they can last for decades. We’re proud to announce our partnership with AccorInvest - Europe’s leading hotel investor & operator! And we’re even more excited that our first project together has already won an award! Together, we are transforming Novotel Madrid Campo de las Naciones into a benchmark for sustainable tourism. This project has been awarded "One of Spain's best sustainable hotel projects for 2025" by the Re Think Hotel Awards, with support from the Ministry of Tourism. This project reuses the shower water from the hotel rooms to irrigate 120 m² of Vertical Gardens. It will save 730,000 liters of water annually and produce enough oxygen for 120 people. Years ago, we envisioned bringing Nature Based Solutions to tourism —and today, that vision is becoming reality. But this is about more than just greener hotels. It’s about building better cities, improving lives, and setting new standards for sustainability. We hope this inspires more companies to step up and collaborate for a better future. A big thank you to AccorInvest and everyone involved in making this happen! • Can you believe plants can turn toilet wastewater into clean, usable water? It might sound crazy, but it's 100% possible — no chemicals, no machines, just nature! Today 80% of the world's waste water goes untreated - this is a serious situation that most people are not aware of. But the solution is so easy - Here’s how it works: 1️⃣ Plants are planted in a special system filled with gravel. They start growing and preparing to clean the water. 2️⃣ The magic happens underground. As the water flows through the system, plant roots and helpful bacteria remove waste and harmful substances. 3️⃣ Clean water flows out! The result? Crystal-clear water that’s safe for irrigation, flushing the toilet, or returning to nature. Imagine how much water we can save in our cities if we make it mandatory for all buildings to treat their wastewater. And on top of that, this solution helps create a habitat for wildlife and biodiversity. Want to learn more about Nature Based Solutions like this? • You have no idea what a space like this can do for your mind. Let's understand this —our minds weren't built for life indoors. Yet, you will probably spend 90% of your life inside. No fresh air. No greenery. Just screens, bad air, and artificial light. And it’s quietly destroying your mental health. Your brain and body crave nature. Without it, stress builds, focus fades, and energy drains. It’s not just about taking a weekend hike — you need nature every single day to feel truly alive. The good news? Bringing nature inside has never been easier. With today’s tech, plants can thrive with almost no effort. Surround yourself with nature, and watch your mood, focus, and well-being transform.
