✨ 🎓 Busy day at CARNET! After our morning activities, we just had a second visit, this time from students of the Heriot-Watt University. Our team presented various key topics that highlight the innovative work we're doing in mobility, including an introduction to CARNET, followed by a deep look at one of our cutting-edge projects, RideSafeUM, a project that focused on improving safety in #micromobility through #computervision. 🌍 We also shared insights into our #academy and #social initiatives, which aim to boost talent and make mobility more #inclusive, and discussed our ongoing business creation efforts that help start-ups push their solutions. 🌉 We, as part of a university, highly value and encourage these types of initiatives that help bridge the gap between students and the industry, reinforcing the collaborative spirit, key for future advancements. Thank you for visiting! 🙌

We’ve just wrapped up a session with our partners on Europe’s competitiveness, based on Mario Draghi’s latest report. Together, we explored how Europe can turn decarbonization and innovation into engines for growth. Key takeaways: 📌 Lluis Jofre-Roca presented key points from Draghi’s report, highlighting the need for Europe to boost productivity, innovation, and investment. 🚗 From the point of view of Volkswagen Group Innovation and SEAT S.A., we discussed the automotive industry's role in advancing green technology and regulatory changes. 🔧 CARNET proposed mobility and digitalization as essential for a sustainable European future. 💬 The session concluded with an open discussion on leveraging decarbonization for economic growth. 💡 Fun fact: Did you know that Draghi’s proposal of investing 5% of Europe’s GDP in green technologies is equivalent to the entire annual GDP of a country like Belgium? A bold move, but we're here to work and make Europe grow in collaboration with our partners. 🤝

🌿  Did you know that Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (#SUMPs) are transforming cities in innovative ways to make them greener and more people-friendly? Wanna know how? 1.  🚶♀️ Green Space Expansion: Cities are repurposing road space into parks, bike lanes, and green areas. Take for example Barcelona, where the creation of superblocks has turned entire neighborhoods into pedestrian zones, enhancing the quality of life for their citizens. 2. 🚴♀️ Health Boost: By promoting active mobility, SUMPs contribute not only to better transportation but also to public health. Some cities report a 20-30% increase in physical activity among residents, leading to healthier communities. 3. 🙋♂️ Public Participation: SUMPs thrive on local input! In some cities, residents participate in mobility hackathons, contributing their ideas for designing more sustainable and efficient transport solutions. And most importantly, solutions that will fit their needs like a glove! 📑 Curious to learn more about all these benefits through practical case studies? Check out our latest course, created to help you implement them and design the future of our cities: https://lnkd.in/daxwrdMM 🤝 Course supported by EIT Urban Mobility and developed in collaboration with our wonderful partners UPC School (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB), and CINESI, Transport Consultancy.
