This paper provides a comprehensive review of #CFD #turbulent #combustion modeling for internal combustion engines (#ICE). 🔎 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿: 1️⃣ Overview of ICE Combustion Concepts: The paper begins with a discussion of general #ICE combustion concepts and the specific demands these place on #turbulent #combustion modeling. 2️⃣ Governing Equations and Chemical Reaction Modeling: It presents the governing equations for simulating #reacting #flows and summarizes the principles of #chemical #reaction modeling. 3️⃣ Turbulent Combustion Models: A detailed review of #turbulent #combustion models applicable to #ICE simulations is provided, including their mathematical formulations and relevant parameters. 4️⃣ Application Cases: The paper reviews application cases related to different #ICE technologies, such as spark ignition (#SI) and compression ignition (#CI) engines, and discusses extensively the performance of these models. 5️⃣ Recent Advances: It highlights recent advancements in #turbulent #combustion modeling, particularly the need for model adaptations to accommodate the unique characteristics of future fuels. 6️⃣ Future Research Directions: The paper outlines future research directions, emphasizing the importance of enhancing #turbulent #combustion models to ensure high accuracy in simulations.
