    Meet HOWCOW, the 🥉3rd place winners of our recent Startup Lab Competition in Kyiv. 🎉 We chatted with Dmytro Kruhlov, COO of Howcow, to hear more about their journey and what advice they would give to entrepreneurs. 💡Founded in 2023, Howcow is an AI solution that includes software and hardware to boost farm production. 📓What was it like in the early days? 📓 We realized that the existing solutions either do not globally solve the needs of farms, are expensive, harm the animals, or are unavailable. Therefore, we started by researching which scientific methods, approaches, and veterinary experience we can use to find a solution. Starting from the use of smartwatches on animals, we developed the first prototype of a collar for cows. Now, we have a commercial version of the device which helps solve a number of needs of farmers. Now, the collar -together with the CRM system to help farmers to determine the fertility window- increases milk yield, optimizes the operation of the farm and alerts farmers about the animal's health before it is too late. 👩🏼💻Why did you start Howcow? 👩🏼💻 We originally started with a disease prediction solution for humans, and this application is currently expanding across European countries. But about six months ago, we came across a request from the farming industry to implement something similar for animals. After researching this market and the farms themselves, we realized that we can increase income not only for farmers, but also improve the lives of cows. 💡What advice would you give to future entrepreneurs? 💡 To those who want to start their own business, never give up. Believe in what you are doing and keep creating useful solutions. Be prepared that the path may change or the approach will need to be changed, but always keep going towards your goal.     Meet Uspacy, the 🥈place winners of our recent Startup Lab Competition in Kyiv. 🎉 Starting in September and as a part of the Glovo Startup Lab, we are looking forward to hosting the top winners in Barcelona at our HQ for their upcoming residency program. Ahead of the residency, we chatted with Dmytro Suslov, Co-Founder & CEO at Uspacy, to hear more about his journey and what advice he has for #entrepreneurs.💡Founded in 2022, Uspacy is an all-in-one online service, providing a single digital workspace for organizing SME’s daily processes. 📓Early Days 📓 I remember that even before the company was founded, we meticulously worked on the strategic idea and the principles on which we would build Uspacy. Then came a very optimistic phase of expectations about the launch speed which clashed with the realities of life. It was much longer and more complicated than we had imagined but we never stopped believing we were creating a fantastic product that users would love. A significant milestone for us was our trip to Web Summit 2022 in #Lisbon. We attended the event without a working product but rather, with detailed scenarios and designs to showcase to potential clients. This elicited a fantastic reaction! The final step toward the 1st release was our decision to present the product on a set date, regardless of its readiness. And it was the right decision. 👩🏼💻Why Uspacy? 👩🏼💻 At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, each of the future founders of Uspacy lost their job or business. Of course, the first question we faced was—what’s next? Each of us had different options, but it quickly became clear that we needed to focus on what we knew best. So given our experience, we decided to create our own online service. We didn't just want to create a product; we committed to the sustainable development of an entrepreneurial culture through the use of modern tools that increase efficiency. We aimed to enable SMEs to organize their daily work processes and increase their efficiency with digital tools, keeping the focus on results. That's how Uspacy came about. 💡Advice for Entrepreneurs 💡 First, before creating a product, I would suggest carefully working through the critical strategic questions: identify your client, describe your competitive advantages, understand the market, and outline your go-to-market strategy. This will save you from many mistakes and wasted time and money. Second, I would not recommend starting a business alone; always look for co-founders. Sometimes, it’s difficult but they are always ready to support you, provide a complete picture of the world, and protect you from your own ego. Third, launch the product as early as possible without waiting for it to be perfect.     In #Uganda, we’ve partnered with the Haba Na Haba Food Bank to make food more accessible for those in need. 🥕 Through donations, we’ve helped them to invest in food trucks to aid in their food rescue efforts, allowing them to bring food to more communities by giving them the ability to go to more markets to rescue more food from being wasted. In just over 3 months (March 2024-June 2024) our donations towards hiring food trucks have allowed them to deliver a total 106,792 kgs of food, which translates to over 213,000 social meals. The delivery of these meals has been made possible thanks to Glovo Access, which provides logistics services and assistance to NGOs and Social Services, ensuring that essential goods are accessible for all, including the delivery of meals to those in need. So far in 2024 across all of our markets, we’ve delivered 2.5 million meals through Glovo Access, helping us to increase the positive impact we have in the cities where we operate. #GlovoAccess #Glovo

    🌍✨ Last month, we welcomed Noemi to Barcelona as a volunteer at our Solidary Delivery Center where she worked to help those in need while preventing food waste. 🥫💡 In #Barcelona, #Madrid, and #Warsaw, we’ve set up Solidary Delivery Centers (SDCs) in collaboration with the non-profit organizations Fundación Altius and Bank Żywności SOS w Warszawie that redistribute food surplus and deliver meals to vulnerable people. With all the food collected from our partners in the SDCs, we are able to create food baskets adapted to the needs of the beneficiaries, dignifying access to food. Since opening the first SDC in Madrid 2 years ago in Spain, we’ve delivered over 1 million meals to more than 1,400 beneficiaries. We want to take part in shaping sustainable city models. One of our aims is to provide solutions that effectively manage food surplus while benefiting the community. So far in 2024 across all of our markets, we’ve delivered 2.5 million meals through Glovo Access and the SDCs, helping us to increase the positive impact we have in the cities where we operate. #Glovo #Spain #Poland #FoodRescue #Volunteering #Barcelona #CommunityAction

    Meet Getpin, the 🥇1st place winners of our recent PowerUp Ukraine Conference & Startup Competition. 🎉 Starting in September and as a part of the Glovo Startup Lab, we are looking forward to hosting the 1st and 2nd place winners at our #Barcelona-Based HQ, #YellowPark for their upcoming residency program. Ahead of the residency program, we chatted with Volodymyr Leshchenko, Getpin CEO, to hear more about their journey and what advice they would give to entrepreneurs. 💡Founded in 2019, Getpin is a B2B SaaS that offers a single point to manage online presence, publish information, control reputation, analyze users' behavior and run local ads. 📓What was it like in the early days? 📓 Before the company was officially formed, we tested our idea by "selling" our "technological" solution, which was initially just a facade. We manually handled operations to alleviate customer pain points and identify what needed to be automated to enhance customer satisfaction. This process helped us finalize the business requirements for our technical solution and refine our presentation. However, the introduction of the new MVP didn't simplify our tasks, as we continued to address issues and respond to client feedback. Despite the challenges, it was an enjoyable experience. 👩🏼💻Why did you start Getpin? 👩🏼💻 I would split my journey before founding Getpin into three stages: 1. Painful: An insightful experience of leading the first official Google Adwords Reseller in the CEE region taught me about the problems businesses face when launching successful advertising campaigns online. 2. Fail at my first attempt to change the world: I tried to help businesses acquire customers online with an innovative pay-per-call SaaS tool, AdPhone (founded in 2012). Despite a large customer base, poor monetization led to the startup's failure. 3. Lessons learned: Understanding customers’ problems from a previous startup inspired me to try again. In 2019, Getpin was founded to build a global AI-based SaaS platform that helps businesses thrive online. 💡What advice would you give to future entrepreneurs? 💡 It's always challenging to offer advice since every project and setup is unique. However, I can share some general principles that have worked for me: 1. Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. Prepare yourself for the long haul. 2. Dream big. Aim for a large market when creating a product or solution, but start with a small group of customers or a specific niche. 3. Keep the lines of communication open with your customers. Their needs are the primary source of information for your venture. 4. Expect to fail multiple times. Reframe your perception of failure as a part of the learning process and adapt accordingly. 5. When faced with seemingly insurmountable problems, take a step back. Don't panic—instead, get some rest.
