Thrilled to share our new paper out in Nature Communications (Nature Portfolio). Led by PhD student Iván Ramírez-Pedraza of IPHES-CERCA Institut Català de Paleoecologia Humana i Evolució Social, we use a #multiproxy, transdisciplinary approach to reconstruct the mosaic environments of #Morocco 2.44 million years ago, a time when #hominins were present in the region! Happy to have been able to collaborate on this project that revealed, for the first time, the #environmental context of this area during the Plio-Pleistocene transition. Although arid, our study location was once a highly diverse ecosystem with woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands. This diversity was likely key for hominins travelling through and settling in this region in the past. Ahir vam tenir el plaer de rebre la visita de la Laia Pallejà, directora del ICERCA - Centres de Recerca de Catalunya, als jaciments de la Atapuerca Foundation Acompanyada de la directora de l'IPHES-CERCA i coinvestigadora principal del Projecte Atapuerca, la Dra. Marina Mosquera, i de la cap de recerca del nostre centre, la Dra. Isabel Cáceres, va visitar in situ els jaciments coordinats pel personal investigador de l'IPHES-CERCA (Sima del Elefante, Galería, Gran Dolina, Cueva Fantasma i Mirador) i conèixer la recerca multidisciplinar que s’hi duu a terme. El dia anterior, va ser rebuda per la Sra. Aurora Martín, directora gerent del Museo de la Evolución Humana i, després de visitar el museu, va assistir a la taula rodona titulada “Pasado, presente y futuro de Homo antecessor” a càrrec de la Dra.
