Although I have a challenging and sometimes stressful job, I have strategies to maintain my motivation. What keeps me going is my team. They're fantastic, we have a great working environment, and they keep me moving forward. I also set clear, achievable goals, which give me a sense of direction and purpose. I'm always looking for ways to improve procedures, too, which helps me stay engaged. ✏️ What do you need to create a growth mindset? In my opinion, developing a learning or growth mindset requires some key mindset shifts. It's essential to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and maintain a positive attitude, even when stepping out of your comfort zone. Persistence and resilience are key, as failure is part of the learning process. Recognizing that hard work leads to skill development and success is important, as is welcoming constructive feedback as a tool for improvement rather than personal criticism. Finally, staying flexible and adaptable, being open to changing direction, and adjusting your learning strategies will help you continue to grow. ✏️ Can you share a time you learned something new or took on a new challenge? I had been responsible for a client for years, when the scope increased and our team expanded. My line manager challenged me to take on more responsibility—specifically, to coordinate the team and find ways to improve our procedures. It was a huge vote of confidence. At the time, I was worried I wouldn't be up to the challenge, but three years later, I see it was an opportunity to learn and grow. The initial challenge has been overcome, but I'm grateful to have new challenges every day. ✏️ What strategies do you use to integrate learning into your routine? It can be challenging to fit learning into your day-to-day, but I’ve developed some strategies that help. I take advantage of online tools, like courses and podcasts, since I can access them anytime, anywhere— often on my commute home. I also make daily reading a habit, focusing on relevant articles and blogs. Finally, applying what I learn immediately in my work makes it more relevant and meaningful, and sharing knowledge with others deepens my understanding. #JobAndTalent #PeopleofJobAndTalent #LearningAndDevelopment #GrowthMindset

I’m planning my first solo vacation to the north of Portugal this year. I used to think vacations were meant to be shared with others, and the idea of going alone felt daunting. However, I’ve found the strength to embrace this opportunity and create an incredible experience on my own. This decision is making me realize the importance of independence, self-reliance, and being comfortable with solitude. It’s helping me grow and trust my ability to enjoy and navigate new experiences, which I believe will positively impact other areas of my life as well. ✏️ How have you changed or evolved over the past year? Over the past year at Multitempo by Job&Talent, I’ve developed stronger active listening and communication skills. I’ve learned to express my opinions more clearly and to share information in a concise and straightforward manner. This has improved not only my interactions within the team but also how I communicate with our employees. The support and feedback from my colleagues have significantly contributed to this growth.  ✏️ Can personal growth impact professional growth? Yes, I believe life is a constant evolution, and our personal and professional lives are closely intertwined. The skills and lessons we learn in our personal lives, such as resilience, communication, and adaptability, can enhance our performance at work and vice versa. By embracing growth in one area, we naturally support and enrich the other.  ✏️ How can we stay open to change? People can embrace change by maintaining a positive mindset and a willingness to learn. It’s important to actively listen to new ideas, seek feedback, and be flexible in adapting to different situations. While accepting change can be challenging due to one's environment or upbringing, having an open mind and a readiness to learn can prevent these factors from becoming obstacles. How can finding meaning and direction in life lead to personal growth? 🪴 In our latest 'People of Job&Talent' feature, Teresa Costa da Silva reflects on her journey towards purpose and balance, offering valuable insights along the way. People are the heart of Job&Talent. Join us as we explore the common questions, challenges, and motivations that unite us all. ✏️ What gives you a sense of purpose in life and why? I have several goals in life, but the ones that give me the most meaning are to be happy, to be able to contribute in some way to seeing the people around me, family and friends, happy too, to look at my animals, 3 dogs and 5 cats, and see what a good life they have, compared to others, to be able to continue working at what I enjoy doing the most, accounting, to set goals and achieve them. All this already contributes to my happiness. ✏️ What is a personal mantra or quote that has guided you through difficult times? I don't really have a mantra or a specific quote, but I especially like these: “Forward is the way, the past is behind us”, “Tomorrow is a new day”, and “There is no good that lasts forever and no bad that never ends”. However, I've learnt that in difficult times, it's important to have a positive attitude, to be resilient, to learn from mistakes, to face problems head on, to ask for help if necessary because I really believe that if you try hard, in life, everything works out in the end. ✏️What is something you've always wanted to do but haven't yet? Living abroad. I'm passionate about England, and I'd love to have the experience of living there for a year or two, but I lack the courage to do it. There are several reasons: professionally, I love what I do, and I'm very happy here, so I would only make this decision if I could continue to do my job from there. Personally, I would miss my family and friends very much. ✏️ How do you balance pursuing your personal passions with fulfilling your responsibilities? In Portugal, they say that with good will, everything can be achieved. Both at work and in my personal life, I try to balance things as best I can. For me, being organized, setting goals and objectives, defining priorities, and making choices are some of the things that give me the balance I need to fulfill my responsibilities and obligations and, at the same time, pursue my passions. #PeopleOfJobAndTalent #MeaningInLife #PersonalGrowth
