In BeAble Capital SGEIC SA offices, the synergy between technology and lighting design not only provides healthy lighting but also raises the well-being of its workers. 💡 The lighting designers in charge of the project decided to use the Lutron control system to control the luminaires through the DALI standard. ☀ However, the main value to fulfilling the objectives of user wellness in this project resided in the optimization provided by KUMUX for the control and lighting characteristics. By automating the lighting settings throughout the day, KUMUX achieved the synchronization of artificial light with the natural rhythms of light. 💻 This project not only meets rigorous wellness and productivity standards, such as the WELL in circadian lighting but also adheres to the Lighting Research Center's criteria for workspaces, whose parameters require variations in lighting throughout the day. 🤩 At KUMUX, we believe in positive transformation through lighting innovation. Beable Office not only represents a space where technology meets standards but also an environment that prioritizes the quality of life of its workers. #WorkplaceWellness #HealthcareInnovation #LightingDesign #DynamicLighting

Automated Human Centric Lighting for Health and Well-being
Sobre nosotros
In Kumux, we believe in bringing natural light benefits to artificial light with the existing lighting technology. Our objective is to improve people’s health and well-being through light. Based on science, we have developed artificial intelligence that provides the existing lighting control system with the most suitable lighting settings data (correlated color temperature - CCT and brightness) to mimic the sunlight indoors, but also adapt light for the activities in each space. KUMUX automated lighting control throughout the day, all year, brings out the full potential of tunable white LEDs for users’ health and wellness. It helps balance people’s inner clock, improves their rest at night and boosts their energy levels during the day, reducing the risk of suffering from sleep and other health disorders.

🌟Latest evidence on how optimised office lighting influences night-time rest. A recent study demonstrates that optimised dynamic lighting in offices have a positive impact on employee well-being, promoting healthier circadian alignment. 🔍 What did they find? The study tested the effects of optimised dynamic daylight and electric lighting on the circadian phase of melatonin, cortisol, and skin temperatures in office workers. The researchers equipped one "test office room" with an automated control system for blinds and electric lighting and a "reference office room" without such controls. Participants spent five consecutive workdays in each room, and individual light exposure data, skin temperatures, and saliva samples for melatonin and cortisol assessments were collected. 💡 The Results The results showed that dynamically adjusted office lighting, which includes automated control of natural and artificial light, can advance melatonin secretion and peripheral heat loss, which could particularly benefit those with a delayed circadian system. This, in turn, can improve sleep quality and workplace productivity. Key benefits: 🌙 Better circadian synchronisation: The use of optimised lighting in the workplace can help regulate hormonal rhythms. 🧘♂️ Improved employee well-being: A well-lit work environment contributes to better overall health and performance. 🚀 Increased productivity: Employees who sleep better and have more energy during the day are more effective in their work. 💼 If you are looking for an innovative way to enhance your employees' experience and performance, optimised dynamic office lighting is an excellent option! ✨ Lighting innovation in education: The EDU-LIGHT Project At EDU-LIGHT, all members took on the challenge of transforming educational spaces with dynamic lighting that enhances well-being and performance. Our CTO, Adrià Huguet-Ferran PhD, was one of the experts in this initiative, bringing scientific research and technological innovation together to create a more natural and adaptable lighting environment for students and teachers. 💡 Why dynamic lighting in classrooms? Traditional classroom lighting is static, yet natural light changes throughout the day, influencing our circadian rhythms, focus, and overall comfort. By integrating a dynamic lighting system, the project aimed to simulate natural light variations, balancing brightness and color temperature to support concentration and relaxation when needed. 🔹 Key aspects of the project: ✅ Luminaires capable of adjusting between 2700K (warm tones) and 6000K (cool tones), simulating outdoor light conditions. ✅ Implementation of scientific studies on dynamic lighting for different age groups. ✅ A DALI-controlled system with sensors that adapt light intensity and colour based on natural light levels. ✅ User-friendly automation, allowing teachers and students to activate pre-set dynamic scenes at the touch of a button. As Adrià explains, the goal was to create a lighting system that supports attention and productivity while minimising negative impacts on well-being, ensuring that students can transition smoothly from focused study to restful recovery. 🚀 We are proud of this collaboration and its potential to redefine the role of lighting in education! EDU-LIGHT is a project coordinated and executed by the Cluster de Iluminación CICAT and the Health & Wellness Working Group of the Cluster, involving partner companies Asselum Luminotècnics, S.L., E2 INGENIERIA, ERCO, Giano Productora Ética, KUMUX, Lamp, Lutron Electronics, and Vossloh-Schwabe, with collaboration from UPC School (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) and support from ACCIÓ. #CICAT #EDULIGHT #masterlightingupc #UPCSchool
