QGMI is deeply committed to the Environmental and Social (E&S) sustainability of its projects. Long before construction begins, we carry out critical, often unseen activities to understand and manage social and cultural risks, focusing on the well-being of local communities. Key actions include: ✔️ Screening local economic, cultural, and social conditions. ✔️ Early engagement with communities to address concerns and assess potential impacts. ✔️ Identifying sensitive areas with cultural, spiritual, or economic significance through site visits. These insights shape the project design and are reinforced by a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), aligned with international standards, to avoid, minimize, or mitigate risks while enhancing positive outcomes. Before construction starts, we implement an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) to ensure all findings are addressed and maintain open communication with communities and workers. #QGMI #Sustainability

During December, as part of the International Anti-Corruption Day, #QGMI organised various activities in our projects and offices to promote a culture of ethics among our employees and their families. This year, we embraced the United Nations theme: "Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity". One of the most special initiatives was a drawing contest for the families of our employees, focusing on two inspiring topics: 'What does corruption mean to you?' and 'What would an ideal society look like to you?' The youngest participants amazed us with their creativity and profound messages, reminding us of the importance of valuing our society and not taking the world around us for granted. Through these actions, we reaffirm our commitment to #transparency, convinced that #ethics and integrity are the foundation for building a fairer and more sustainable future. #compliance #anticorruption

A few days ago, the official presentation of the Penessoulou-Aledjo-Sèmèrè road project took place in the Donga department of #Benin. QGMI will undertake the construction of this road over the next 24 months. The event was attended by the Secretary of State for Development and Coordination of Government Action, Mr Abdoulaye Bio Tchané, as well as the Director General of SIRAT SA, Mr Ranti Akindès, alongside several mayors and councillors from the localities through which the road will pass. Located in the northwest of the country, the project involves the development and asphalting of 44 km of a two-lane road, along with a 6 km border variant connecting Aledjo-Akaradè-Togo. It will also include the construction of three bridges, as well as drainage and lighting works. Once completed, the road will improve the movement of people and goods, boost the local economy, facilitate trade, and help reduce the historically high number of accidents on this route. Let’s get started! Best wishes to the entire #QGMI team who are already working to make this project a reality. 📸: Présidence du Bénin

At QGMI, we’re making strides with our Ouidah-Kpomassé project in #Benin, a 14 km road that will transform access and connectivity in this region. In addition to paving, we have integrated drainage systems to strengthen infrastructure for the rainy season. This project not only eases transportation but also boosts local development, enhancing quality of life and opportunities for the area’s population. #QGMI #Infrastructure

Throughout October, QGMI joined the "Pink October" initiative with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection. Over the past weeks, our teams in Ghana, Angola, Benin, Guyana, and Europe have organised talks with medical specialists, distributed commemorative items to our collaborators, and carried out various awareness activities. Additionally, we visited schools to talk about what breast cancer is and how to prevent and detect it. At #QGMI, we believe in the importance of informing and supporting our community on health matters that affect us all. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this cause!
