Capturing the elegance of our mechanical process, creating beauty from scraps. At Recover™, we are on a mission to help solve one of the world’s biggest environmental issues: textile waste. We have perfected the art and science of recycled cotton fiber over 75+ years, across four generations. Today, we offer a scaled solution to transform textile waste into low-impact, high-quality recycled fiber. Rooted in Circularity - a visual storytelling experience created by Spanish photographer Estela de Castro- is a project that showcases the many facets of Recover™. In 2020, the European Union alone generated an estimated 6.95 million tons of textile waste, with 82% being post-consumer waste, and the remainder originating from manufacturing or unsold textiles. Only a small fraction was reused or recycled; the majority ended up in landfills, often abroad, or incinerated. The consumption of clothing and footwear is expected to increase by 63% by 2030. This is known as the textile waste crisis, and it is accelerating. But what led us into this situation? How did we end up with so much waste that we don’t even know what to do with it? Part of the answer goes through answering another question: are clothes recyclable? The answer is more complex than you might think. At Recover™, we break it down for you in our latest web article: https://lnkd.in/d8M7yRT5 #textilerecycling #circularfashion #clothingrecycling

Did you know that 1 t-shirt made from 30% Recover recycled cotton and 70% conventional cotton saves up to 87 liters of water and 0.7kg of CO2 emissions? This was one of the insights that surprised the fashion students from Alcoy's School of Art and Design (EASDALCOI) who visited our Recover™ facilities a couple of weeks ago. During the visit, our People & Talent Manager in Spain, Estrella Mataix Ferrer, introduced our company and talked about our mission and values that guide our daily actions, finishing up with a tour of our factory. It was great to see that the students showed a lot of interest in learning about our recycling process, classification, and composition of clothing. Students walked away with a deeper understanding of the importance of recycling and how it can play a role in their future careers. Hosting such visits aligns with our mission to support educational initiatives and attract new talent through immersive learning experiences. Interested in joining our team? In conversation with Vogue Business correspondent Madeleine Schulz, he shared his vision for the company and the growing challenges and opportunities for the fashion industry. Anders highlighted that while there is an immense interest and willingness to engage in sustainable practices, challenges persist in adaptation and cost. To succeed, we need scalable partnerships, internal structural changes, transparency, and supportive regulation. These elements will drive sustainable growth and ensure accountability. At Recover™, we believe in the power of creativity to solve challenges, particularly in fashion.
