🏙 A long journey that started in 2017 has come to an end. Florencio Manteca, our project coordinator, outlines the lessons learned in these six years and reflects on the legacy of STARDUST project. He also places this in the light of what has been happening in #Europe in recent years, from Next Generation EU to Fitfor55, and looks at the social, economic, and technological barriers that city-scale projects face. STARDUST is an EU Horizon 2020 Smart Cities project with the mission to enlighten European cities
Sobre nosotros
STARDUST is an EU-funded Smart Cities project. Its goal is to design and implement a number of smart urban interventions in the three Lighthouse cities of Pamplona (Spain), Tampere (Finland) and Trento (Italy). Four Follower cities (Cluj-Napoca in Romania, Derry in Northern Ireland, Kozani in Greece and Litomerice in Czech Republic) will help develop a sound replication strategy of the solutions developed by the project. Indeed, STARDUST will lighten up the path for cities to relish a more sustainable livelihood by interweaving innovation and imagination at your fingertips. The project is run by an international consortium of 31 partners coordinated by the National Renewable Energy Centre of Spain (CENER). STARDUST has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and Innovation programme under grant agreement N°774094.

Today, at the final review meeting of the STARDUST project, we heard the results and lessons learned. VTT was responsible for monitoring and Terttu Vainio presented the results. The project exceeded its objectives in all themes. For example, in transport, the uptake of electric buses has led to significant energy savings. I presented the results from Tampere, which are something to be proud of. Thanks again to everyone who made it possible. Smart Tampere

🇬🇧 In the last few weeks Habitech took part in the final event of the STARDUST project, hosted in Pamplona (Spain) by the project coordinator CENER. A key opportunity to focus on the results achieved by the 3 Lighthouse Cities of Trento, Tampere and Pamplona along 6 years of the project, as well as to discuss strengths, weaknesses and lessons learned on how to transform urban environments into real Smart Cities.
