SPARCS, a #H2020 project, aims to create a network of Sustainable energy Positive & zero cARbon Communities.
About us
The most significant objective of SPARCs is to achieve citizens’ inclusive free-carbon urban community. SPARCs aims to address the multiple challenges cities are called to solve by creating the ecosystems needed for the urban energy transformation in cities towards a citizens-inclusive Sustainable energy Positive & zero cARbon CommunitieS. The project wants to trigger the urban transformation while creating a society with citizens being at the centre of the decision process and aware of the city’s activities. A top priority is to set up inclusive management and planning models, ecosystems and processes, with involving companies, city planning and technical departments, and citizen and research organizations. The overall goal of SPARCs is to demonstrate, and validate, the technical and socio-economic viability, and impacts, of scalable, innovative solutions for planning, deploying and rolling out smart and integrated energy systems as an efficient mean for the urban transition into a citizen centered zero carbon ecosystem, enabling a high quality of life.
