We are grateful to have participated in La Salle Technova Barcelona’s #DemoDay! It was a fantastic opportunity to share our vision for a greener future by transforming healthcare waste management. 🌱 Connecting with inspiring startups and discovering new opportunities for collaboration made it even more rewarding.
🚀 The #DemoDay of October, organized as part of the #Go2Scale #startup acceleration program, was a huge success! 🎉 The event brought together startups and experts from the entrepreneurial ecosystem in a hybrid format full of opportunities. 💡 We kicked off the session with a presentation by Josep M. Pique, Executive President of La Salle Technova, followed by talks on public and private financing by Jordi Garcia from INNOVALAUS and José Ramon Martin Vega from BStartup. Yesterday, we successfully hosted the 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 as part of the The District Show congress. We are excited to congratulate the winning startups that stood out for their innovative and sustainable solutions: 🏆 1st prize Best Startup: Sustein Material This startup transforms hospital waste into circular building materials, reducing environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable economy. 🥈 2nd prize Best Startup: Nidus Lab Their GenAI platform optimizes architectural design and real estate project management, generating sustainable and efficient designs. 🥉 3rd prize Best Startup: Keibell Keibell uses artificial intelligence to automate hotel management, reducing costs and improving efficiency and sustainability. Hace 6 meses me uní a Sustein Material, donde fabricamos los primeros materiales (a ser) neutros en carbono para la construcción y el diseño, a partir de residuos sanitarios. Han sido 6 meses de mucho trabajo, pero sobretodo de muchísimo aprendizaje y crecimiento. He tenido la oportunidad de comprender la industria sanitaria a profundidad, de ahondar en la enorme ventaja que implica utilizar sus residuos como materia prima, y de observar en primera persona cómo gradualmente impulsamos su cambio hacia una economía circular. Sin embargo, lo más especial ha sido conectar con personas que diariamente luchan por un futuro más sostenible, con la certeza de que siempre podemos hacerlo mejor. En especial quisiera agradecerle a Simon Gonzalez por haber confiado y seguir confiando tanto en mí. ¡Aún nos queda un largo camino por delante y muchos objetivos por cumplir! It's time we rethink the management of #healthcare waste in society ♻ We're looking forward to contributing with our expertise to Club EMAS #circulareconomy sessions on this topic and being part of enabling solutions together with Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Bbraun Medical, LLORENS GMR, and many more. Thank you Agència de Residus de Catalunya for your support and Maria Passalacqua from Club EMAS for inviting us to take part in this project.
El próximo 13 de Febrero de 2024 se realizará la reunión de trabajo del sector sanitario sobre economía circular. Esta jornada se enmarca en el proyecto del Club EMAS que ha obtenido el apoyo de la Agència de Residus de Catalunya y contempla la identificación de los principales retos y oportunidades y la realización de un estudio sectorial que permita poner luz sobre cómo superar las barreras para hacer del sector sanitario una actividad más circular. La jornada está dirigida a los centros sanitarios, laboratorios y otras partes interesadas como los colegios profesionales del sector sanitario, empresas proveedoras del sector (productos farmacéuticos, medicales, etc.), gestores de residuos, administraciones competentes, proveedores de soluciones entre otros. Durante la jornada que se llevará a cabo el 13 de febrero en Barcelona, se presentarán el proyecto, sus objetivos y las actividades previstas. Además de trabajar en la identificación de los retos y oportunidades de la economía circular para el sector, se dispondrá de un espacio para exponer materiales para los cuales los centros sanitarios buscan alguna solución que permita aprovecharlos como recurso y así tener una mejor salida medioambiental. Ese mismo día se presentará dos iniciativas interesantes, una prueba piloto fruto de la colaboración de tres actores, el Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau , Bbraun Medical y LLORENS GMR y, por otro lado un proyecto innovador de Sustein Material para la fabricación de materiales de construcción a partir de residuos sanitarios.
