Are you an expert in research commercialization/valorization, connecting academia to the business sector, or supporting the innovation ecosystem? 🔎 The UfM is launching a Technical Assistance for support services related to the organization of the “UfM Innovation Conference: From Research to Business.” We are looking for a contractor to design and implement a two-day training session and a high-level policy dialogue, scheduled for October 2025. In just 25 years, the Euro-Mediterranean region has lost 40% of its remaining glaciers. This year's #WorldWaterDay reminds us that this rapid decline isn’t just symbolic. It accelerates flooding, droughts, landslides and rising sea levels, compounding both environmental and socio-economic challenges. As a recognised climate change hotspot, the Mediterranean is warming 20% faster than the global average. According to the UfM-supported MedECC network, even minor sea level increases can have major long-term consequences for coastal communities. 💡 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dy543Szs

A stakeholders’ dialogue will take place in Barcelona on 11 April 2025 to review the new UfM Grant Schemes. The event will gather project promoters, local implementing partners, and beneficiaries to exchange best practices, lessons learned, and identify areas for improvement. The Mediterranean Youth Water Hackathon showcased promising business ideas addressing WEFE challenges. 💡 Congratulations to: 🥇 Typhinity RIM (Mauritania), represented by Djeinaba Aly Camara, turns invasive Typha plants into organic compost and biochar. 🥈 Trovador (Portugal), represented by Marta Bernardino and Margarida Guedes, is developing robotic tech for reforestation in inaccessible areas. 🥈 Laheq Halak (Palestine) represented by khouloud gassem and Clara Casasnovas, tackles food waste with a mobile app connecting vendors and consumers. The next generation is stepping up to tackle global water challenges.
