What a 100% carbon fibre looks like on the inside... Is reality in line with expectations?

Yet another neat carbon fibre part infusion at the ZEN factory. In about 25 minutes we infused a combined cabin and head carbon floor board with integrated hatch recesses and shower tray. This part will now spend a few hours at higher temperature for optimal curing and tomorrow will be demolded, inspected and trimmed for installation onboard. Kicking off this new week with yet another finely engineered full carbon fibre cabin and head floor infusion prep! Having the hatch recesses, shower tray and other design features all integrated in one part requires more solid engineering upstream but makes for a much lighter and sturdier component with a lifespan immeasurably longer than the usual plymood made cabin floors. Short snippet of the ZEN50 Hull1's e-motor commissioning and shaft line vibration check at our factory. All passed with flying colours. A big milestone for the first ZEN50! There is no question of how smooth, silent and compact electrical propulsion is! This allows us to place the motor and shaft line under the floor of the cabin and center and lower the masses near amidship. This is ideal as it reduces pitch motion and increases stability (the old Gunboats had their engine room in the middle of the hulls - where the space was best for cabins - for that reason) resulting in absolute best in class hydrodynamic behaviour and great comfort. It is a long journey designing and birthing a yacht that by all measures defies the established rules and conventions but our commited team is ticking the boxes with excellence one after the other and the splashing is now on the horizon!
