Faes Farma plant ready to manufacture 100 million medicines a year To support the continued strong growth in the number of product units sold in recent years, the pharmaceutical group FAES FARMA decided to expand its industrial capacity with the launch of a new pharmaceutical production plant project. The new facility, designed by IDOM, with Gonzalo Carro López and Patxi Matute Roldán as the architects responsible, is located in the Science and Technology Park of Bizkaia. The configuration of the building is adjusted to the plot and to a complex topography with large slopes, achieving an important symbolic load, but based on the viability and functionality of the production. This translates into a compact, staggered building, adapted to the orography of the plot. This implementation achieves that, from a distant point of the road, the image of the administrative building appears, apparently floating above the main entrance. The building has LEED GOLD certification, thanks to a series of measures including the solar protection of the façades, the work on the thermal inertia of the building with the inclusion of a green roof, and the sustainable energy production systems in the form of photovoltaic panels. #health #medicines #architecture #efficiency #sustainability #faesfarma ----------------- La planta de Faes Farma lista para fabricar 100 millones de medicamentos al año Para apoyar el fuerte y continuo crecimiento del número de unidades de producto vendidas en los últimos años, el grupo farmacéutico Faes Farma decidió ampliar su capacidad industrial con la puesta en marcha de un proyecto de nueva planta de producción farmacéutica. La nueva instalación, diseñada por IDOM, con Gonzalo Carro y Patxi Matute como arquitectos responsables, se ubica en el Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Bizkaia. Se plantea una configuración del edificio ajustada a la parcela y a una compleja topografía con grandes desniveles, consiguiendo una importante carga simbólica, pero basada en la viabilidad y funcionalidad de la producción. Esto se traduce en un edificio compacto, escalonado, adaptado a la orografía de la parcela. Esta implantación consigue que, desde la aproximación en un punto lejano del vial, aparezca la imagen del edificio administrativo, aparentemente flotando sobre la entrada principal. El edificio cuenta con la certificación LEED ORO, gracias a una serie de medidas entre las que destacan la protección solar de las fachadas el trabajo en la inercia térmica del edificio con la inclusión de una cubierta vegetal, y los sistemas de producción de energía sostenibles en forma de placas fotovoltaicas. #salud #medicamentos #arquitectura #eficiencia #sostenibilidad #faesfarma
