A huge congratulations to all the winners! 👏 Here's a quick recap of the awardees: 🌱 Climate Change : HBX Group – For their comprehensive decarbonization plan that incorporates renewable energy, carbon offsetting through reforestation, and a new carbon footprint calculation tool. 🌍 Environmental Impact: World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance– For their free, digital Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality, providing clear, actionable steps for the sector to address key environmental challenges, from water stewardship to GHG emissions. 💻 Technological Prowess: Thrust Carbon – For the innovative Hotel Sustainability Index (TC-HSI), a digital tool that simplifies sustainable travel decision-making by delivering data-backed ESG scores for over 1.6 million hotels worldwide. 💡 Economic Advancement: USAID Developing Sustainable Tourism in Bosnia & Herzegovina (Turizam) – For their Pathways to Professionalism Program, a transformative workforce development initiative that addresses tourism sector shortages while fostering economic growth and sustainability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 👥 Societal Development: @Village Bratac – For their community-driven tourism development, preserving unique cultural heritage and creating local pride with events like the Cheese and Potato Day that celebrate traditional products and bring life back to the village. These organizations are paving the way toward a more sustainable and resilient tourism industry, and their efforts inspire us all to do more. 🌿 The AWFT Forum’s mission is to highlight and encourage such initiatives, demonstrating how businesses and individuals can adopt green practices to ensure a healthier planet for future generations. I had the privilege of participating in a remarkable panel alongside Shaon Talukder from Geotourist and Mary Harris from Bird Global Advisory, moderated by the amazing Rajan Datar - where we explored the power of storytelling and the role of public screens in travel communication. + Our discussions highlighted that effective advertising is fundamentally about storytelling. + Capturing your audience’s emotions and speaking their language through authentic, relatable visuals is key to winning their attention and drawing them in as visitors. + We have just 2 seconds to engage with an out-of-home (OOH) advertisement. + Similarly, we have 2 seconds for a social media ad's + Together, this results in an average view time of 5 seconds! (2+2 = 5) Moments of Truth study by JCDecaux UK JCDecaux stands out as a brand-safe choice—we are the only OOH provider with a triple A rating from MSCI Carbon Markets and we power all our sites with 100% renewable energy. It’s crucial to remember that approximately 40% of travel industry emissions stem from transport.
